I was fine with it. Although he seemed to have a knack for leaving these situations before so I’m not sure exactly why he stayed knowing he’d die. Maybe his convo with Melisandre and his knowledge from the flames as a child led to his acceptance here. But I was fine with it. It made sense for him. Maybe I missed it... or just forgot... Did we ever find out what the voice in the flame said to him?

you know what? if this is true and not some lame theory dany stan fans came up with i really dont care , even if varys was trying to poison her , good for him for trying to take her out he would have stopped a massacre, and the show is not over dany wouldnt have any problem burning any child , she burned several when she attacked KL . you see her dying as well?. martha ? yes only if this stupid theory is true or varys never hatched anything and theory is not true but dany believes little girl was plotting something with varys and burns her anyway . right now dany is paranoid she thinks of everyone as her enemy.

It bothers me how the show illustrates Arya and Danys descents because in Aryas case we're not supposed to find her badass, she's losing her humanity. As for Dany, she is becoming her father actually.

As for Dany, she is becoming her father actually. yes she really is even worse since her daddy never had dragon pets ( I asked the question several times if he had dragons no one had an answer for me) it was hinted several times she would, jon to dany S7 : "They will see you for what you are "they really did see what she was , the more jon said shes not like her father the more convincing it was she was . As for Arya her character did confuse me especially when she began her faceless training just seemed to drag on forever and then she would get punished for taking a hall face to kill someone even though they were training her to do just that - that entire storyline lost me i didnt care for it of all the remaining stark children Arya and Bran i would say are the strangest.

David Benioff has an answer for that: "Varys kind of forgot Dany promised to burn him alive if he ever betrayed her."

It was hinted at in S6 when she took "Mercy" as a name. Her experience in King's Landing is showing this too. Dumb little fools like simple journeys from A to B, this story is not for them, as petitions show.

Dumb little fools like simple journeys from A to B, this story is not for them, as petitions show. Which betrays the trajectory of her story arc basically. Only if one insists in seeing it as a straight line. Only if one wants the story to be simplistic. The same goes with Jaime, who is pulled between opposite poles, with Daenerys, who goes from oppressed to saviour to oppressor, with Tyrion who can't seem to make his mind on which side he really wants to be and probably with a few others. It is obviously too much for Star Wars or Marvel fans, so they sign a petition to prove their intellectual level to the world.
