Zack Snyder mentioned he wanted to do a George Washington American Revolution film focusing on a single major battle victory in the visual/action style of "300"
What do you think of Snyder directing history epics in the style of 300?
Civil War World War I World War II Vietnam
Or even older wars like the crusades or other medieval battles. Maybe Roman.

Definitely The Civil War. One where the Union army are ripped as fuck and Jefferson Davis is a giant with an army of various freaks and mutants. Gerard Butler gotta play Lincoln.

I want to see George Washington yell "No taxation without representation !" As he slides on his knees and throws an American flag as a spear and kills a Brit general! Hell Yeah! Merica!

And war movies could use a visual face lift.

Surely somebody has done something like this as sketch comedy by now?

I agree. I could see a Vietnam battle with CCR Fortunate Son playing and that visual style. Kick ass!

Being smack dab in the middle of a war zone like Vietnam or the shores of Normandy must be such a surreal experience anyway (I can only imagine) that added visual flair and spectacle might actually enhance the awesomeness of it.

How about it be about Francis Marion (aka the Swamp Fox) or Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain Boys. I guess the Patriot was loosely based on Marion and Disney did a mini series on him with Leslie Nielsen playing the part. It's a compelling story though. Ethan Allen fought alongside Benedict Arnold though so maybe that would add some drama.

Go for it. It's a genre I'd love to make a comeback.
