The prolific author of some great novels, such as "The Caine Mutiny" and "War and Remembrance" which have been made into successful movies, passed away in his sleep just 10 days shy of his 104th birthday. I am pleased that he lived such a long life and passed so peacefully.
I hope I go the same way, but I'm skeptical.

Actually, as much as I like WAR AND REMEMBRANCE (whose 30th Anniversary reached its conclusion last Tuesday), it bombed in the ratings.

In the late 50s Herman Wouk wrote a book called This Is My God. One of my best friend's mother came to our school library to present a book review to us of this book. This was the first, and only, time I ever heard a book review by an adult coming into our school library. I remember it to this day..that was how unique and special it was at the time to hear an adult book review.
Some times it is the little things we remember......
