1. What would that have to do with me? 2. Are you thinking any of us are want to move to your country? 1. You live there in that society. 2. I don't know. My country is irrelevant to this argument. 1. And you don't. What's your point? 2, Well, your opinion about another country is irrelevant too and yet here we are.

My point is the exhibited hypocrisy of Americans on the matters I raised and religious Americans in particular. All opinions are valid if based on facts. Pointing out hypocrisy may be irrelevant to you if you are one of that number. To me it is relevant to this argument on this thread.

How about a law that EVERY man who creates an unwanted baby has to have a forced vasectomy AND pay maintenance for the child until it is 18? (DNA does not lie) Not a bad idea. I'd even go one step further: Anyone who actively takes measures to prevent a woman from making a decision about whether to carry a pregnancy to term or not, should be forced to pay child support for 18 years for the unwanted child. This includes anti-choice activists who attack PP facilities, or harass women who try to access a clinic. I wonder how big the anti-choice front would still be. I believe it would crumble, because anti-choicers probably loves their own money more than the thought of punishing women for having sex.

At about this stage in a discussion about abortion, I like to remind all Christian pro-life posters of a VERY apt Christian saying... "...and THERE butt for the grace of God, go I!" Basically it means that 1. for a woman, it could have been ME who was the victim of rape, incest, failed contraceptives, drunken stupidity, an abusive relationship, emotional blackmail by a male. forced sex, one off mistake and a thousand other reasons that happen to women from the age of about 11-12 to menopause. 2. for the man to be the 'other' part of ALL of the above. People who have never had the experience of an unwanted pregnancy are ALWAYS SO JUDGMENTAL of others unless and until it happens to them or a near relative or friend... and then THEY have the temerity to JUDGE OTHERS? ? IT MAKES ME SICK!

Not you... The US... It's fucked. That's what I mean. Anyone who lived in the states would know Alabama is the butt boil of it. Most foreigners don't really understand the whole "state" thing. You should just make a generalized thread of all the reasons the USA sucks since that's the main country talked about outside of the occasional Israel one. Most non Americans would be more than happy to discuss other countries but any thread seems to die as the huge majority of posters here are American and they tend to be very insular and only interested in matters that affect themselves or Israel. Many countries are going the way of America as populism sweeps the world, there are huge problems in places like Turkey and Hungary that could be discussed, and it really is a pity that so few Americans are interested in matters beyond their borders at such dangerous times for the world.

I could not agree with any post more than this. Over the 17 odd years I have been posting on the IMDbs, as an Australian, I have copped SO much flack for either 1. Posting alternative topics other than those of American interest which either die in the bum or are swamped by pro-American opinions that the threads usually revert back to. 2. Criticising America and it problems which Americans take so personally because as you say they are 'and they tend to be very insular and only interested in matters that affect themselves or Israel.' AND are inordinately defensive, as though how dare the rest of the world do something better than us, and also we are so the centre of the developed world 'how dare anyone else criticise us'? I have had to have a thick skin when it comes to constantly being accused of being 'anti-American,( I have an American sis-in law, nephews and nieces educated there and living there and I am visiting next week) when I either constructively criticise an aspect of America or EVEN point out how other nations have solved similar problems. It is very peculiar and rather sad.

It is very peculiar and rather sad. Your thread about the Australian soccer playing loser seemed to hold its own. Break the cycle or if one must talk about the US, pretend to understand it’s size and diversity. There’s not much reason to paint it with broad strokes just because that’s what one can do with Australia.

It was rugby and if you read the thread it was about a wider issue that is ubiquitous and international. I HAVE to make it that way or no one even reads it. Nevertheless, it was. I think that I have a fairly good understanding of this ( for a foreigner) Anyway, next Monday I am going to the States on a fact finding mission and cultural expedition to really get a feel for the place and talk to its denizens. Perhaps I wlll have a fuller understanding after that. I will try. You see, you were doing so well until this statement. It just shows how Americans have an even less accurate view of Australia than we do of the USA.

I said the statement so you could send some time defending your own country against ridiculous generalizations. However let’s nit pretend Australia is as diverse human wise as it is dangerous critter wise.

However let’s nit pretend Australia is as diverse human wise as it is dangerous critter wise. 1. Don't all Christians believe in Christ and his teachings? I don't see much evidence f a consensus on here from the American Christians. 2. Equalising it out amongst the diversity of dangerous creatures we have, Australia’s dangerous creatures kill about five people a year. Do I need to remind you that guns in USA kill 40,000 Americans per year injuring another 60, ? and even accounting for population differences, pro rata, the gun death rate for the USA is NOT a good look, and it is more preventable than the accidental deaths by creatures. You do the maths. For your interest: www.bobinoz.com/migration-advice/australias-killer-creatures-the-truth-about-deaths/For what it is worth.....ethnicity of Australians though to compare us to USA would mean some discussion about how you classify your African Americans... www.statista.com/statistics/260502/ethnic-groups-in-australia/We are very culturally diverse.
