Not your survival, Jehovah's survival. No matter what you do, you're gonna be dust in another 125 years, just like you were 125 years ago.
It's Jehovah's survival that depends on prayer. Does anyone pray to Zeus, Poseidon, Jupiter? No, that's why they're dead.

Or perhaps a fan of the Ori story arc in the last two seasons of Stargate SG1.

Does anyone pray to Zeus, Poseidon, Jupiter? No, that's why they're dead. Problem is, very few want to call 'im by his real name, Jehovah. They like to use generic catchall moniker, God. That's just in case God isn't Jehovah, they don't want to piss off some other deity and hope it'll be satisfied with them just saying "God." That way, when standing before Thor, for example, at judgment, they can say that they never actually said Jehovah and really meant Thor, all along.

A quote from that episode: Like The Bible (or as some call it The Book of Contradictions), how can a god be immortal yet need something for survival. The inspiration for my original post was taken from Straight Dope Message Board in a thread entitled, How egotistical must an entity be to need to be worshiped. In that thread, two posters mentioned Star Trek.

Please keep in mind that worshipping God is not a one way street God, in turn, Has Devotion for His children, known as Agape. Worshipping the Devil or devils is a one way street. The Devil and his minions have NOTHING in return for those who choose him, except their ultimate ruin.
