For today is the feast day of St. Medard. He is a weather saint... we will get 40 days of whatever the weather is like today (a bit like St. Swithun). When he was young, a big eagle hovered over his head to shelter him from rain. He is also the patron saint against toothache, if you've got a louting tooth.

Only if the weather is the same at St. Barnaby.
But anyway: These weather rules are from before the Industrial Revolution and have become obsolete, thanks to man-made climate change.
