I remember Tom Magee from the awesome movie "Stone Cold" fighting Brian Bosworth. When I saw that movie, at first I thought he was the Ultimate Warrior who is my favorite wrestler. It's cool WWE Network showed that match after it being lost for so many years. Magee did some amazing back flips off the top rope over Brett Hart. I think Magee potentially could have been WWF Intercontinental Champion at some point if he could have overcame some of his awkwardness. This match is a reminder of the good old days of WWF.

I think they really wanted to use him but he just wasn’t cutting it

Tom Magee gets a win over 'Double A'
You mentioned the Ultimate Warrior. I see a bit of Kerry Von Erich in his mannerisms.
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong - didn't Kerry debut in WWF a year or two later or am I off here?
Was thinking this was late 80's below when the Brainbusters (Tully and Arn) were in the WWF - or am I off on this time period as well by a few years?

Action packed. Boz could have been the next Stallone. 10/10 beers from this guy.
Should have been a sequel.
Boz had a great '30 for 30' done on him by ESPN - tremendous piece that I highly recommend.
Like all their pieces - tells a tale of a rise, fall, rise, fall - and again a rise being humbled as you get older. Terrific story telling that makes you feel as if you've gotten punched in the gut.

i believe arn left the wwf in ‘’89 and Kerry debuted mid 1990. That basically was the nail in the coffin for World Class. I guess in a way this Magee guy had a little of Kerry and some of the warrior in him. I know i saw him at the time but I really don’t remember the guy other than his name. I guess he wasn’t around that long

ESPN!
do know if the Coliseum is still around today or did they implode it?
i'm fascinated by old school promotions like this and what lead to their demise.
you look at the talent pool in there and it was off the charts (just like AWA)
wonder if there's been any type of 'revival' attempted over the years - I know the NWA still has a 'name' out there but has never managed to generate a lot of steam.

i remember well when espn first started having awa wrestling. It had tremendous talent and real good wrestling. And then they were airing all classic wccw programs every weekday afternoon so I’d come home from school and watch that every day. The awa/world class/uswa/continental alliance is what I really wanted to take off in the late 80’s but unfortunately it wasn’t enough to compete with the wwf. There were attempts in the Dallas market to revive the area. After gwf was gone jim Crockett ran there and then I think it was Gary Hart tried to revive world class in the late 90’s. Didn’t last too long. They did tear down the sportatorium in Dallas. I think Kevin Von Erich was taped doing an interview and walking around the building before they tore it down. The building had a lot of history

The building had a lot of history it's really a shame when you look back over the years - but hindsight is 20/20 i think what Vince tried to do with ECW (which failed - but he did try) - he should have tried to do with WCW and let Shane run 'Thunder' or 'Nitro' on Thursdays as it's own entity (of course under his watchful eye). after awa, wccw, nwa were toast - i find it a missed opportunity in the early 90s too - they could have played off these promotion wars with everyone in WWF's house - i.e. Hogan, Von Erich, Flair, Martel, Hennig - correct me if I'm wrong they - were all there at the same time - i.e. the WWF Champ, former NWA, former AWA, former WCCW....... should have made a round robin tourney of the likes of Von Erich vs. Hogan, Flair vs. Hennig, etc etc......

I think in Vince’s case he spent so many years pretending there were no other promotions and was happy to see the rest of the industry crumble and when it did he was happy and felt he didn’t need to. Plus he always felt his fan base didn’t watch other promotions. There were a lot of stubborn fans that wouldn’t try to watch other wrestling too. Which i never understood.

It's nice to have alternatives.
I was a WCW fan.
Gotta be honest at first I was thrilled about this AEW stuff.
Been reading the 'dirtsheets' (is that still a thing fanboys) - is this organization a plant so to speak by Vince - when you have the likes of Y2J, Ambrose (i'm sorry - what's his name - Boxley or something?, and GoldDud) burying your company - acting as if they're competition?
maybe it's the cynic in me coming out.
throw some money at Phil Brooks - want to see when they air on TNT exactly what type of product this is.

i hear it’s gonna be huge. Yeah I wish I had a nickel for every time I heard that in the last few decades lol. But they did the impossible on the show they ran and the people want it. I feel like ROH should’ve taken the mantle but they couldn’t keep on growing. But you guys are the experts with the current wrestling.

Yeah, Magee's in ring style looked a lot like Kerry Von Erich. Kerry was awesome and even teamed with Ultimate Warrior at times. Kerry and Warrior practically look like brothers in this match...

IIRC the match between McGee and Hart is locked away with Jimmy Hoffa. I heard the match was so bad that even Bret Hart could't carry it and he could carry on a 5 star match with a push broom. Worse yet, Hart put him over.
