to fix Tony before it got sent back to its original dimension. I know thematically this wouldn't work as well, but it would have made me happier.

Doctor Strange could have used the time stone ANY NUMBER OF WAYS to prevent things from ever happening in the first place!
But if he did there would be no story.
Whenever you find a better way things could have turned out in a movie, remember this... "because story".

Whenever you find a better way things could have turned out in a movie, remember this... "because story". That’s the way I try to look at it. I’ll always comment on it, sure, but I know it’s just about the story. What’s cool about IW and Endgame though is that we actually have an excuse for anything that doesn’t make sense. Strange says there were 14m futures and they only win in one. So anytime someone does or doesn’t do something we can just chalk it up to “Well in the universe they do/don’t do that they lose so...”. Like Star-Lord losing his cool on Thanos. Stupid? Definitely. But obviously in every timeline where he doesn’t lose his cool.... they still lose.

If Starlord doesn't lose his cool, then they get the gauntlet off Thanos' hand and Thanos cant' do the first snap. So how the fuck would they have lost if Starlord hadn't been a selfish dick and had let them get the gauntlet off Thanos' hand? They wouldn't have lost. Doctor Strange's excuse was just BS. It's just BAD WRITING!

It's just BAD WRITING! Or you just have limited thinking, getting the gauntlet off of Thanos doesn't stop him, it just renders him less powerful, but this is a being strong enough without the stones that can fight and take out Hulk in single combat or the triefecta of Cap, Tony & Thor with both Mjolnir and Stormbreaker in hand, who is strong enough alone to smash vibranium apart.
Thanos could have gotten the glove back quite easily or even if not easily he may have been able to get his hands on it at a later date regardless.
I actually think the Strange thing was written poorly in the numbers did not add up, 14 million is way to low to see all possibilities of actions over atleast 5 years but that's it, it's the wording that's an issue not the essence of that part of the story, make it 14 billion or 14 trillion and ok fair enough.

I kind of wish they thought of this in the movie, but Strange and Tony know it cant be done because what is happening to Tony is in part caused by the stone it may not be possible to undo it, and also undoing so may undo his action and bring Thanos and his army back, so Tony is accepting of his fate.
At the very least it would shut the retards like DC-Fan up who claim Tony didn't make a noble sacrifice because he didn't know the snap would kill him...oh who am I kidding no it wouldn't that spanner would still whine about things.

Doesn't matter how strong Thanos is. Once they get the gauntlet off Thanos' hand, they can destroy the stones and/or the gauntlet so there wouldn't be any snap. So how the fuck would they lose if they Starlord doesn't behave like a dick and doesn't stop them from getting the gauntlet off Thanos' hand and destroying the stones and/or the gauntlet? Like I said, Strange's excuse was just BS. It's just BAD WRITING!

Like I said, Strange's excuse was just BS. It's just BAD WRITING! How could they do that exactly? only Wanda showed the ability to do this and only to the mind stone because she shares in it's power, no promise that the others could be destroyed by her, and Thanos snapping them out of existence almost killed him, Hulk managed to wield the stones but barely, Thanos showed far more resilience to their power than Hulk, so whose to say any of them could have snapped the stones out of existence except Thanos?
And if they cant destroy all the stones then hope is lost because if the time stone cannot be destroyed Thanos can just reverse time to get it and restore the stones like he did in IW.
I am not saying it's perfect writing but it isn't bad writing, you just say it is because you are a deranged troll, their is far more egregiously bad writing in the DCEU or XCU even the Raimi Spiderman films but you don't have issue with their poor writing at times, but anything not perfect in the MCU and you cry about it.
