NBA - The 72-10 Bulls? I’ll defer here because I follow the NBA the least.
NHL - either one of those Gretzky Oiler cup teams or a team from the Islanders dynasty. Maybe Hasek era Red Wings. Not including any of those old timey teams when there were only 6 of them.
NFL - in the Super Bowl era, choose among the 49ers the year Young won the Super Bowl, an early Steel Curtain team, the 85 Bears, the year Terrell Davis went for 2000 yards on the Broncos, or insert random Patriots team here. My choice? The Eagles of Super Bowl LII.
MLB - how do you possibly pick this? So many eras and styles of the game. In just my lifetime probably one of the Jeter-era Yankees championship years.

Basketball has to be the 92 Dream Team. As far as NBA seasons, it's a toss up between the 86 Celtics and the 96 Bulls. I'd love to see those two teams go at it.

AFL: 2000 Essendon team- lost one game all season by 7 points in Round 21. Won the Grand Final by 60 points. As the caller said at the end of the game "We'll argue forever who the greatest team is, but there's no debate that this is the greatest season we've ever seen."

1992 Dream Team
Though, to think they could have even had Shaq as a college player is even more unthinkable.
I would argue a 1988 NBA Dream Team could have been even better. Prime Magic and healthier Bird, Kareem, though MJ wouldn't be at his peak yet, but very very good.

In baseball, it comes down to the 1998 Yankees or the 2018 Red Sox. Call me "Homer" but I'll take the Sox. Yankees won 114 and the Sox won 108. But, the AL was better in '18 than '98. In 2018 you had two 10 win teams, in 1998, the AL team with the next best record was the WC Red Sox with 92 wins. Red Sox had to beat those two 100 win teams to get to the WS, Yanks beat teh 88 win Rangers and the 89 win Indians.
NFL - Da Bears, 1985.
Greatest CFB Team - 2001 Miami Hurricanes or 1995 Nebraska Cornhuskers. Both demolished anyone put before them. Miami had more pro players but that's not what it's all about.
Greatest CBB team- 1991-92 Duke or 1981 - 82 North Carolina. Yeah, yeah, 1995-96 Kentucky, but they played no team ranked higher than 25 from the beginning of December until the Sweet 16. My Grandmother book club could have won in the anemic SEC
The "Dream Team" was an oddity. Only in Basketball could you put together a national team and have it that much better than everyone else. When they announced the team, the competition was over. And it bored the bejezzus out of me. Like watching practice with the time kept.

Millwall, 1971. Captained by Harry Cripps. Any other answer is frankly ludicrous and not to be taken seriously.

The 1869 Cincinnati Base Ball Club, who won their first game 45-9, and went on to finish with a record of 67-0.

They won the CFB title outright (97 split it) plus they beat an undefeated SEC Champion Gators team (who was the same team that won 4 straight SEC titles) 62 - 24 in the NC Game.

We agree! The 1995 Nebraska team is the greatest college team I've ever seen. It was almost sick.

1994 was a crock - - the fact that that wasn't a split championship year infuriates me. When Keith Jackson was asked which team had the greatest offense in his years of watching college football, he said the 1994 Nittany Lions. One of Penn State's four undefeated and untied seasons that wasn't given a national championship.
