My parents pretty much kept me wrapped up in cotton batting. So, when I started dating at 17, the first movie I saw, with a date, was "Patton". Quite different from the previous movie, with parents - "The Sound of Music". In other words, Rachel's 66, folks. LOL!

Don't recall but it was probably something with one of my brothers. Not even sure what movie I saw completely by myself.

Of course, I actually told ant-mac in an earlier post that I am 65. But, later this year...

The Omega Man (1971). I was 9; saw it at an air force base theater. Admission: 25 cents.

I don't remember the first movie I viewed without my parents as even if I narrow it to only counting movies in the theaters or VHS I still can't say for sure even though I got some comments below...
-Mortal Kombat (1995). I viewed that opening day in the theaters with my cousin which was Aug 18th 1995 as at that time I was not far from 16 years old. I am pretty sure that was the first movie I viewed in the theaters without my parents.
-Speed (1994). I first seen about half of it in woodshop class in high school as that was on VHS (I later told my parents about it and we got it on VHS tape). I am guessing this was before the Mortal Kombat (1995) thing above if you want to count that as it shows June 1994 for the theater release date and I would guesstimate it was probably late 1994 or early 1995 when I seen it on VHS.

The Land Before Time. The adults left me, my older brother and maybe one or two other kids by ourselves to watch it. I was maybe 5 or so. I can remember all of us cheering when they killed the T-Rex. And by the time JURASSIC PARK rolled around, we were cheering for the T-Rex. Pretty much. I like how they let it live in The Lost World, despite all the death and destruction it wreaked in San Diego when it escaped the freighter. And TLBT is also the film that introduced to me the notion of the "bad guy death", and I loved it.

After all, she wasn't responsible for being in San Diego, 65 000 000 years after her species became extinct. And she was just looking for her offspring. I know Human parents - myself included - who would do far worse to protect our offspring. I'm trying to remember where and when I first learned about what could happen to bad guys... DOCTOR WHO on TV?

It was in the 80s. I really don't remember. It could be My Lucky Stars, The 5-Man Army, Predator, The Evil Dead or some other. It is also likely that it was a non-English film.

I like to make "old" jokes (just ask them1ghtyhumph LOL) because in my group of friends I'm the eldest. Don't take it personal. And while you're at it, be careful going up any staircases. You wouldn't want to break a hip! LOL!

It was probably one of these:
Jaws on VHS at home when I was sick and couldn't go to school. Ghostbusters on VHS at a friend's house. Some Bud Spencer & Terence Hill movie on VHS at another friend's house.

"Wayne's World".
Buddy of mine said we had to make it a point to go see this movie. I whole-heartedly agreed with him.
I ended up getting the box set with "Wayne's World" and "Wayne's World II". For some reason, I don't watch the sequel as often as the original.

I totally forgotten about it until I read this thread.
I don't remember the movie's name, but it was a Tarzan movie, one of those made in the late 1960s with Mike Henry, or one of those that might have been edited together from two TV episodes with Ron Ely. I don't remember much about the plot either.

Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade - someone from school's bday party. Though I suppose his father was there who drove us.
