Suarez missed the pen in the shootout! Erm, we know, Captain. I see you're on your mobile. Are ye out on the ale by any chance? Oops! I didn't read far enough back the way in the thread. Sorry, Wilson! No, no drink has been taken!

I hope Argentina win as I'd hate to see Messi retire again, and come back after a few months.

USA vs Curaçao in minutes.
Jamacia won the first one 1 - 0 over Panama. Was that an upset?

Great breath control after Peru scored the winning penalty! Indeed! His voice broke slightly in the first curtain-raiser attempt but he recovered admirably for the 15 second main show, and even added a 7 second encore.

First semi-final today, between the hosts Brazil and Messi's Argentina. The location does not augur well for Brazil: Belo Horizonte, where Brazil's record in semi-finals of major tournaments in this decade is, well, let's just say not very positive...

Brazil (recently fined $15,000 by CONMEBOL for their fans' anti-gay chanting during the opener versus Bolivia) have narrowed from 10/11 into 4/5 over 90 minutes with Argentina lengthening to 15/4 from 16/5. Qualifying odds remain undisturbed at 4/11 and 2/1.
For Brazil, Richarlison should be match-fit following a recent assault of mumps. Up front it should be a three-way combo of Firmino, Jesus and Coutinho. Felipe Luis and Fernandinho are doubts.
The Argies have no injury hassles but Scaloni will have to decide whether to start Lo Celso who potted from the bench versus Venezuela. It should be the expected triangle of Aguero, Martinez and Messi that will be attempting to molest the Brazilian box.
The last Copa encounter between these two was a good 12 years ago when Brazil ran out three-nothing winners.
It should be a lively affair. We are once again on for a 1.30am (BST) kick-off.

Who's Tito? Do you mean Tite? He's the Brazilian coach, not Argentina's. Or is that a nickname for Lionel Scaloni?
You're right, of course. I rectified it, then saw your post. I got confused in my eagerness. By the way, what time will it be where you are at kick-off time?
I deleted my post when I saw that you had already corrected it.
It will be at 20:30 here in Montreal, so a very convenient time for me. Maybe I will get a pizza to eat while I watch.

First Yellow of the game goes to Tagliafico on '7 with a lunging assault on Jesus. No need for that.

The leg of Jesus is receiving the magic sponge here on '12. It looks like someone's been at it with a very sharp plane. Now Paredes sees his flyer float a foot over the bar for the Argies.

There's a flare-up between Paredes and Casemiro on '15 as tempers fray following a bit of shirt-pulling. They try to lock horns but are separated. The heat is on.

Nice team effort by Brazil just before the 20 minute mark, and the team in yellow is ahead 1-0.

GOOOOLL! A lovely build-up on '19 involving several players and finished off by Jesus who slotted in Firmino's low cross. Good play from Alves in the build-up there. Brazil's first assault on goal and it's one-nothing.

Messi free-kick from 35-40 yards out. He fires but it's hard to tell if that was meant for a connection or to loop the keeper. Completely ineffectual either way as the keeper makes an easy catch.

Messi screams for a Yellow on '30 as Casemiro brings him down without finesse. No booking and the free-kick comes to nothing.
