Visual effects artist Tony Masiello occupies a special place within the horror community. If Alexandre Aja is the genre's current remake king and Rob Zombie the undisputed God of white trash, Masiello might be called horror's Mr. Anthology. He's yet to direct a full feature but he's just a phone call way if you're in need of somebody to contribute a terror segment. So far he's directed 'The Tape' for the compendium 'Horror Independent 8' (2013), 'Cannibal Vampire Call-Girl Hookers From Outer Space 3' for 'Grindsploitation' (2016), 'Morty & Chester’s Grim Return' for 'Frames Of Fear' (2016) and 'Love Me In Pieces' for 'Sleepless Nights' (2016). Emilie Black has a full round-up of his directorial work on offer over at Cinema Crazed - check it out if you're interested; from such humble beginnings, the icons of tomorrow can emerge.
