Link: www.wrestlingattitude.com/2019/06/eric-bischoff-and-paul-heyman-named-new.html"Bischoff is set to become the new Executive Director of WWE SmackDown while Heyman is set to become the new Executive Director of WWE RAW." Another Link: www.wrestlingattitude.com/2019/06/backstage-news-on-possible-on-screen.html"We are told that they will be overseeing all aspects of their individual series, answering directly to Vince McMahon. They are now the top of the pyramid, respectively, for Raw and Smackdown but obviously McMahon will always have the last say. One WWE source compared their roles to Paul Levesque’s in NXT in that they will be in charge, but it’s still Vince’s company" Here's hoping this is true and that Vince will let Bischoff and Heyman ACTUALLY run things like HHH is allowed to do with NXT. I honestly feel like the further Vince is away from screwing with things will be for the better. I can't see much actually changing but one can hope right?

Let's hope this helps improve the product. It'll be an interesting dynamic between the two shows.
Heyman definitely has a better mind for wrestling, but Bischoff has a better mind for business.

This is big news for WWE. I just hope Vince allows Paul Heyman to go to work this time, and not deny him for making his company look good like he did in the past. There's really no excuse, since Paul Heyman will be working on Raw instead of Smackdown now, while Eric Bischoff will be working for Smackdown which is something new, because he's only ever been on Smackdown a handful of times I think, in opposition to the show.
Predicted Paul Heyman guys: Seth Rollins, AJ Styles, Bray Wyatt, Drew McIntyre, Samoa Joe, Sami Zayn, Cesaro, Ricochet, EC3, Bobby Lashley(especially if he goes against Brock Lesnar), Becky Lynch, Ruby Riott, Nikki Cross, Robert Roode.
Predicted Eric Bischoff guys: Randy Orton, Kevin Owens, Aleister Black, Lars Sullivan(whenever he gets back). I don't have very many predicted Eric Bischoff guys because I think this era is kind of beyond him and more suitable for Paul Heyman, given how much closer ECW was to today's wrestling(though ECW had more motivation than current WWE) than WCW ever was, back in the day.

Thing is with the Fox deal SD will likely be seen more as a priority than Raw as opposed to back in them id 00's when Heyman was writing for SD, so Paul could still be handicapped, but at this point with the money the shows make maybe Vince is smart enough to just want to let them be as good as possible and worst case scenario if one show falters too much just switch them around.
Though another report from Meltzer is saying the hiring of Bischoff is a true head scratcher as people feel it just shows how isolated from the business Vince is now, he knows Eric had success as his competitor 20+ years ago, but he's clueless over how Bischoff & Hogan basically killed all the momentum TNA had which was like what 5 years ago now when they left?
Sad thing is it probably wont make a difference because like every other set up they go with the same problem persists, Vince has to ok everything, which means the shows have to appeal to him, which is no longer the appeal or partial appeal of the majority of wrestling fans, you know it's like buying and installing a brand new pristine luxury bath tub without replacing the rusty, dirty, leaky pipes, sure it looks better than before but the water running out of it is still as shitty contaminated as ever.

I did read that HHH was apparently the first choice but he turned down the job. Bischoff might have been the 2nd one I guess. One podcast I listen to suggested that Bischoff was chosen because of his experience with TV executives and he'd be the one dealing with Fox more so than his creative towards the show like Heyman. Was just a speculation though.

Which does make more sense, WWE would be better suited having a TV guy to interact with their new network and help shape the brand on their channel, where as USA & WWE have a pretty solid relationship so they don't need it, but the dwindling viewership probably requires more a injection of creativity to help boost the product so Heyman makes sense, the Vince problem still persists but atleast this makes sense as to why who went where.
Though I dunno I would be worried about Bischoff using the position for his own ends rather than serving the WWE's interest properly myself.

If this means the 2 shows can regain their own unique identities, more power to them. I say cut the parachutes, ride their creative juices through the fall & see what happens. Hell, put Eric on tv again, that'd be hilarious.

Heyman makes senee, Bischoff doesn't. I wonder what AJ Styles, Samoa Joe and the other guys on the roster who were at TNA for Bischoff's disastrous last run are thinking now? 1997 is a long time ago. Particularly when 1999, 2000 and the TNA run have happened in between. He's run two companies into the ground.
Heyman on the other hand has always been good at managing talent and booking. What he was bad at was getting a profile to make money to pay that talent. With a pre existing audience he should be fine. Having said that he didn't fare well running SD or WWECW, so his form in this company (and this century) isn't great.

They could have brought Russo back.
