I am surprised at the votes so far. Mad Men is an excellent show. It is very well done. However, Breaking Bad is one of the three best shows ever made.

I am surprised at the votes so far. Mad Men is an excellent show. It is very well done. However, Breaking Bad is one of the three best shows ever made. They're both great but Breaking Bad usually felt the more procedural of the two. I think it had more memorable shows overall due to its cleverness, but at the end of the day I think Mad Men has better dialogue & style. I get why people didn't watch Mad Men and it makes total sense why Breaking Bad was more popular. The shows are nothing alike.

Both are great shows, but Breaking Bad is more my thing, and it had also a better final season.
But both are top notch.

I prefer Mad Men, more subtle, slow burn and stylish. Breaking Bad was solid and more traditionally plot driven.

They are both ground breaking brilliantly written very dark shows with incredible actors portraying some of the most compelling characters in TV history. Bryan Cranston probably single handedly was the reason Jon Hamm only won one Emmy. Both shows should be on any discerning fan of quality TV's top 10 list.
That said, I voted for Breaking Bad.

Two of the best shows ever but Mad Men is a bit richer with more rewatch value. Breaking Bad was so intensely plot driven that, once you’ve seen how it all ends, it’s less rewarding to revisit.
