Pretty cool, though I don't believe it was anything other than inspiration. Reminded me of when Favre's father died and his teammates put in the intense effort to honor him.

Reminds me of the Marlin who hit the leadoff home run the day after their pitcher died in the boating accident.

I find interesting that the toxicology report, or any statement of cause, is not until October. Newspaper jumped the gun to say it was opioids, where 2 prescribing docs were unaware of the other (supposedly how Tom Petty died). Lots of blowback that it was opinion, cops and family angry. But not foul play and not suicide. Could have been undiagnosed health issue, or some other contraindicated mix.

It’s clearly an attempt to sweep the fact that this guy died of a drug OD under the rug. That’s why they aren’t releasing the report until October, when the season is over and everyone will have forgotten about it. That’s clearly what is going on here, the organization is using their clout to cover up the fact that this guy died of an OD on drugs.

The cause of death is listed as a mixture of “alcohol, fentanyl and oxycodone intoxication with terminal aspiration of gastric contents,” meaning Skaggs, 27, essentially choked on his vomit while under the influence. The death, according to the report, was ruled an accident. He was found on his bed, fully clothed, and there were no signs of trauma. The Southlake, Texas, Police Department is investigating the death, and a statement from Skaggs’ family issued Friday mentions that an Angels employee may have some involvement. www.latimes.com/sports/angels/story/2019-08-30/tyler-skaggs-autopsy-report-fentanyl-oxycodone-alcohol-angels-rusty-hardin
