Filming is beginning in Akron, Ohio. The film will also provide some clues and answers about the aliens' origin.

Ohio eh? I used to live in Ohio. Between Youngstown and Warren. Interesting choice to film.

This couldn’t top the first one, but I will remain optimistic of how it turns out.

It could work. I imagine they'll be following a different set of people or something. Maybe they'll converge with Emily Blunt at the end since she discovered the frequency to kill the monsters are whatever and she may be on some sort of monster killing tour or something... or maybe society is rebuilding a bit like this will be the 28 Weeks Later to the originals 28 Days Later.
Glad he's directing again, but I'd be much more interested to see him do something new.

If ever there was a film that didn't need a sequel. Loved the first one, not looking forward to part 2.

If ever there was a film that didn't need a sequel. Loved the first one, not looking forward to part 2. Obviously it doesn't NEED a sequel, but it doesn't gave to be bad. I'll reiterate the comparison before, because I think it's apt; like 28 Days Later was a great singular film that focused on a small group of characters and an intimate story against the backdrop of what is obviously a broad and global scenario that suggests many other characters' stories, A Quiet Place could also be sequelized by a story that simply focuses on another group or broadens its scope and shows the progression of the situation. I'd prefer to leave it alone. I appreciate 28 Weeks Later, but the first movie was partly so cool for keeping the story small against its grand scale, and the same is true for A Quiet Place. But 28 Weeks Later isn't bad, and A Quiet Place 2 (or whatever they intend to call it) may not be either.

Yeah it may not be bad, but the family dynamic and the originality of the concept are what made the first one so great-- both aspects are missing from the sequel. I guess I've gotten used to ignoring terrible sequels at this point so if it's good, fantastic, if not I can pretend it never happened.
