Looks better than part 1 as i always liked the adult part of the story better than the kid one in the book/miniseries/2017 film ive seen kids vs monsters done better in Monster Squad, The Gate, Stranger Things etc. as i feel the adults going on an adventure always seems more fresh to me.
Looks like Pennywise is gonna drive the adults into madness like in the novel and like Lovecraft here.

For the past few years it was always the kids going against the monster. I believe that it pretty much started with Stranger Things for this decade.

Looks fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. I hope to see Chapter 1 this year but need to read the novel first.

I am not too excited and won't rush out to see it and it doesn't appear to have the same hype surrounding it either. The first one was no great shakes and while watchable, it just wasn't really connecting with me or coming through. I also didn't find it that creepy or scary. This second one may be more interesting with the kids now grown up, but the first one was just weird in parts too and for all the wrong reasons. I really don't think the director got the atmosphere right and it was superficial. The actors acting their parts without much guidance and I really didn't like or care for these kids much. I found the The Conjuring 2 was far superior as a spookster around the time It Chapter One was released. This will be another blockbuster horror movie, not a scary horror movie. Just like its predecessor and the Conjuring Universe. There’s nothing inherently wrong with that necessarily, but it’s not really my cup of tea. I hope they go for genuine scares more than cheap thrills, but I doubt it.

There’s nothing inherently wrong with that necessarily, but it’s not really my cup of tea. I hope they go for genuine scares more than cheap thrills, but I doubt it. The blockbuster aspect is what bothers me, because for it to be successful enough and have longevity, it needs to have more layered substance behind the scares and style. It will just go down as meh otherwise in the annals of horror film history. I expect and expected more, rather than a mechanized approach to something that is just all hype and fails to deliver what it promises. The veneer is not good enough and did King's novel have depth to begin with, apart from his brilliantly written passages about the manifestation of fear? It wound up silly by the end to my mind.
I thought Conjuring 2 superior to the first one and that was all in the execution of presentation which I feel had plenty going for it.
Yeah, the first one back in 2017 was stupid. Not scary at all and actually pretty silly. There were some good parts, but overall it just wasn’t great. I agree about The Conjuring 2. Wan directed it beautifully, even if it’s a somewhat dull story. The first one was the same way.
