It's a little early, but so what? Miami vs Florida This will be the opener to the college season. It's the only game on this particular Saturday. Who do you like? Two old natural foes looking to regain the old glory. Florida went 10 - 3 last year. I don't even remember what Miami did. Could be good. The season starts in earnest on Thursday, August 29. 16 games on a Thursday night. It will feature UCLA vs Cincinnati and Utah vs BYU. Hey, it's Thursday. 8 games on Friday, August 30. Crazy, no? Best games look like Wisconsin vs South Florida, Colorado St. vs Colorado and Oklahoma St. vs Oregon St. Fridays always suck the worst. Then, on the first real day of Saturday football, Saturday, August 31, there will be 57 games. Some of the games that show potential are... Ole Miss vs Memphis South Carolina vs North Carolina Northwestern vs Stanford Boise St. vs Florida St. Oregon vs Auburn Virginia vs Pittsburgh Which game on opening week are you looking forward to most? I love the Florida vs Miami matchup, it’s a great rivalry, I’m a Gator fan and I live in the Miami area, so I love this game getting the season started. Florida really turned the corner last year, getting to 10 wins and winning the Peach Bowl, and this years team looks even stronger. Miami was disappointing last season, it will be interesting to see if they improve this year with a new coach.
You left out Clemson/Georgia Tech playing on Thursday.

I hope they both gouge one another into dirt.
Go Noles!
It's good they're trying to play each other somewhat more often. Canes-Noles is like a family food fight. Gators-Noles is like a schoolyard brawl. Canes-Gators is f'n blood on the pavement lols.

You left out Clemson/Georgia Tech playing on Thursday. Clemson will be the prohibitive favorite but you're right, Georgia Tech is capable of making it interesting. I'll be looking forward to it.

I miss when Florida is elite.
i.e. Top 10 - makes the SEC games that much larger/exciting/must see TV IMO.

'Canes a 7.5 Dog right now - playing at a neutral site too...
be tempting to take the 'U' - but they're Playing a redshirt freshman at QB.
wonder if the Gators rattle the kid - and he's like a deer in the headlights - 1st game of the year in the spotlight on prime time and end up smoking them.

Fresno State at USC - - the Clay Helton watch will be on big time if they lose that game. Fresno State won the Mountain West last year.
It may end up being nothing, but James Madison at West Virginia could be a sneaky good game as well. Madison is ranked second in FBS preseason rankings and have either knocked off or played tough versus FCS teams to start seasons. If the Mountaineers are napping, the Neal Brown-era could be in for a rocky start.

I believe the Gators are returning to greatness, last year was a huge turnaround for them, 10 wins including winning a New Year’s Six bowl. Mullen is a great coach and this years team looks even stronger IMO, I think the Gators have a decent shot at going to the SEC Title Game, I’m excited for them this year.

I remember when they were elite all of those years under Spurrier. I love when the SEC is loaded and every week is a backyard brawl. Was just reading up on them - apparently they lost 4 O-Lineman - but are still ranked pretty high - curious to see if those new O-Lineman can pass protect for Franks and open up gaps for Perine.

The inexperienced offensive line is by far the biggest concern, I hope they can gel quickly and be a solid unit, but everywhere else the Gators are strong, we have lots of experience and talent at WR and RB, Franks should continue to improve, he finished very strong last season, and the defense is loaded with talent, especially in the secondary, and our special teams unit is arguably the best in CFB. I think the Gators should have a great team this year, this is the best I’ve felt about them going in to a season in a long time.

Think they have a shot of coming out of the SEC East instead of Georgia? Only other team getting a little bit of respect in the East is Mizzou who some have at the backend of the Top 25. South Carolina got 15 votes in the AP Poll. Kentucky seems to have fallen off - wasn't it last year where they were ranked pretty high for a few weeks - i.e. inside the Top 15? It's typically the weaker of the two divisions.

Wasn't aware this was on ESPN. Would have figured it would have been on ABC, CBS or NBC with like an 8pm start time being this is the unofficial kickoff to the year. Oh well - here we go...

Yup, here we go. Big on big. This means momentum. If they have national title aspirations, they need to win this.

redshirt freshman looked poised driving the 'Canes down the field
should have gotten rid of the ball though instead of taking that sack
