Well that's some backwards, retconned logic. If TLJ was a better SW movie then the fans would've never thought about boycotting in the first place.

No. Unlike most people I knew that TLJ would not be as well received as TFA. Why you ask? Because I saw that in TFA JJ "Jar Jar" Abrams created far too many unanswered storylines (which he can have a problem with sometimes because of his mystery box approach). So I already knew that Rian Johnson was put in a position that he would have to devote most of the story trying to answer those storyline questions. So I predicted he was going to do one of two things. Get as grumpy as Luke Skywalker in TLJ and make a movie that spent most of its time trying to answer that stuff (but robbed him from doing any of his own ideas). Or make a movie that ignores some or most of those questions from TFA (but allows him creative freedom). Either way the movie was going to have problems. Storytellers don't do a good job when they're not allowed any creative input of their own. And stories don't turn out well if it's a sequel and there's too much subversion. I didn't think Rian was going to do an 11 on a scale of 1 - 10 when it came to the subversion though. He went nuts with it. I also predicted that Rey wouldn't get trained by Luke but would train herself. (And I also have specific reasons for why I predicted that). So to answer your question, no, I didn't have a "Rian ruined my childhood!" meltdown like some others critical of TLJ. For me it was somewhat disappointing. Even though I predicted it wouldn't be able to get around certain problems it still had even more issues. The cinematography and the aesthetics were great though. And there were some good acting moments...

Supposedly, The Next Trailer for " THE RISE OF SKYWALKER" comes out on the 23rd of this Month (which would be Next Friday) although I don't know if that is indeed true or not.
