This is a sweet deal.
Great marketing/sales approach too.
Any revenue is better than no revenue.
Can make some dough on merchandise/apparel, food/concessions, parking too - maybe gain some new fans in the process who may be willing to buy some tickets for next season.
Thumbs up.

Kind of reminds me of movie theaters that offer steeply discounted ticket prices, just to get people in the door (usually, on "off" days). Here in the Milwaukee area, the Marcus theater chain has their $5 Tuesdays, and on top of that, also offers concession stand deals, which seems like a pretty good deal (Especially since (I don't believe), they don't exclude ANY movies, no matter how recent. In other words, if you can wait just four days, you can see a big 'blockbuster' shortly after it's release, for only $5!). And, just found out they've come up with this one, which SURE seems like it's aimed at a certain MAJOR U.S. sport that kicks off their season the first week of September (and is responsible for significantly impacting their bottom line (I'm guessing) on Sundays!)..... SundayPASSPORT
