We have Ridley Scott in common in that I have seen a ton of his movies at the cinema. Every movie he has directed since Gladiator, except for A Good Year.
I have seen every Christopher Nolan movie at the cinema since Insomnia and half of them twice or more at the cinema.
Steven Spielberg is the winner.
Hook Jurassic Park The Lost World: Jurassic Park Minority Report (twice) The Terminal War of the Worlds Munich Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Lincoln The Post Bridge of Spies The BFG Ready Player One
And you'll love this.
I went to see War Horse at the cinema, was so disappointed with the first half that I walked out and walked into The Adventures of Tin Tin, which started 15 minutes before I walked out of War Horse.
That's a lot of Scott loyalty. I wouldn't have gone to Robin Hood for free. Speaking of rereleases and Scott, I'm planning to see Alien in October.
Same here with Nolan, except for The Prestige.
Spielberg is part of my 4 club (the first two JPs, Lincoln, Ready Player One). I bootlegged War Horse and fell asleep.
We are on the same page then.
I have watched the whole movie on DVD though.
I realize that it is a different experience on the big screen, but I have a thing about not paying money for movies I can watch for free at home.
I wished I wouldn't have seen Robin Hood at the cinema. That is one dull movie that doesn't even have the visual flair that some of his other lesser movies have. Alien: Covenant is a sceenwriting mess but it is a great looking movie that has a handful of very effective things scattered throughout. Robin Hood didn't even have the decency to do that. There isn't even one memorable moment in that movie.
This is the only thing about the movie I genuinely like.

I used to feel the same way, mainly because I was into expanding my DVD and Blu-ray collection. Nowadays, I figure I'd rather see a movie in the theater and have that experience than pay twice as much to watch it once on Blu-ray and it collect dust.
Have you read the original script for Robin Hood? Shame they tossed it.

I didn't even know there was a different script originally.

It was going to be told from the sheriff's point of view. Probably the only unique way you can tell a Robin Hood story in the new millwnium. The script sold, then Ridley Scott came onboard and dumped it.
