The funny captions are great .. especially when the movie being quoted is announced and when non Trek images are appreciated.
Memories and experiences are good reading as well.
Post a still of last movie seen is good... am always game for posting a picture !

It seems as if there are quite a few threads about films/scenes/actors.we hate. I may have even occasionally participated in them. But I don't hate many things in cinema and I don't spend much time thinking about them.

Favorite movies - (all-time or of a particular, year/decade/director/etc.) - I think these are the best ways to get a snapshot of people's taste and are good for recommendations, if you like 9 out of 10 of the films someone has listed and you haven't seen the tenth, there's a fair chance you'll like it
Rate (and rank) - these give a bit more detail. No point knowing if someone's favorite Kubrick film is 2001 if they still only rate it a 6 and have only seen one other film by him
Polls - if there are enough votes, a poll gives a good visual overview of the board/thread consensus
Directors - for better or worse I view films as the work of a director, so talking about a specific director's work or comparing them is usually of interest to me
