I always think a lot of things are better when fans are involved because they actually care about the source material...
There have been times that I have seen some designs for DVD menus and cover artwork for various TV Shows and I though it looked cheaply designed and sometimes they used the wrong artwork, from the early seasons, and used them on later season sets...
I've actually thought to myself, I could have done better, and I am not even an artist! Then I think, don't they have any employees that are fans of these shows (or movies) that work for them? Why didn't they provide any suggestions during the design process?
And then I see what some fans come up with, all on their own, and are never paid, and it is so much better that the official stuff... And I just can't understand why...
Fans should always be consulted every step of the way...

For some reason these days. I wish I knew the pinpoint when movie posters began to suck.

For some reason these days. I wish I knew the pinpoint when movie posters began to suck. Not sure exactly when. But the cliches in movie posters sure haven't stopped. Heck, they are being categorized! designbump.com/21-popular-movie-poster-cliches/
