I thought the movie was okay when I first saw it. But man, reading the book years later made me hate it for how watered down it was.

a good case of how not to adapt something at all.

So like Prometheus, another movie Damon Lindlelof destroyed, they were saving the stuff people actually wanted to see for sequels that may or may not have gotten made (in this case, not). Fucking idiots. What, would the third film just be the interview parts? You can't do flashbacks anymore?

I hated the movie. Granted I read the book first, but still think I would have hated it if I hadn't read the book.
The should have made it a trilogy but based on the book with the first one being warnings which if you read the book has plenty of good zombie action.

Never read the book, but hated the movie.
I just don't think the world needs a Brad Pitt-lead Zombie Movie. Period.

Not a fan of watering things down so that the masses will show up with more $$$. Make your art the way it was intended and the money will come later.

When it comes to World War Z the film I see it as a cash in on the books success. The people who made it bought the rights to the title then went off on it's own direction. It's not bad if you look at it as just another zombie flick and try not compare it with the book. Reboot and start again. A one season 8 episode tv thing would be worth looking out for.

I couldn't finish the book. I tried reading it. Twice. Short stories are fine, but fuck me. It changed directions every 10 pages.

It was about a guy getting stories from individuals all over the world during World War Z. Every story different. I have my favorite anecdotes. Battle of Yonkers, the one with the Indian general, the tunnels under Paris, the teen in Tokyo who had to climb down his apartment building, the people who headed north hoping to get away and at first a party atmosphere but then supplies started to run out. I enjoyed the read.
