The majority of murder victims in real life are men. but in crime shows the majority of murder victims are women, why do you think that is?

The assumption that much of the audience would feel more sympathy for female murder victims.

I've noticed Male victims are not as widely featured on Investigation Discovery.
Don't get me wrong... Any murder is sad. Just a trend I've noticed.
The programs about married couples can go either way as far as male or female victims.

That bitch Jessica Fletcher in Cabot Cove, Maine conveniently passes off her crimes onto the rest of her townfolk. That's the real murder capital of the world... on TV, of course.
