I don't even know how many posts I'm gonna make re: the soundtrack for Dream with the Fishes, but I'll start here. Is there an adjective for something that makes your soul drool? Just be prepared.

Okay. This is so amazing: "Ween turned to Nashville studio musicians for the November 1995 recording of 12 Golden Country Greats(1996) which contained only ten tracks... "So Long, Jerry", a tribute to the then recently deceased Jerry Garcia, was featured as a B-Side on the "Piss Up a Rope" single. Sticking to Nashville tradition, Freeman and Melchiondo provided only vocals, allowing The Shit Creek Boys to play all the instruments. Elvis Presley's former backing vocal quartet The Jordanaires appeared on the tracks "I'm Holding You" and "Powder Blue"." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WeenAlso from the Soundtrack for Dream with the Fishes, Ween, "I'm Holding You": and "Abegail Anne" by Jeremy Enigk (with shades of Blind Melon):

I cannot put into descriptive words what that song is for me, but I can tell you that on IMDb, when I was no longer posting as gwnyc1, I had to think of a user name and so I went with SweetSunflower (because it seemed like SweetSunshower would beget "golden shower" type comments). But yeah, that's a kickass soundtrack with my other favorites probably being "Sirens" by Tori Amos, "Lady, Your Roof Brings Me Down" by Scott Weiland, Today by Poe, and Slave by David Garza, but with The Verve Pipe, The Grateful Dead, Iggy Pop and Duncan Sheik songs also on the album, it's beyond a win-win situation.

The movie soundtrack juggernaut: Singles
I'm using restraint to save Jimi, Mother Love Bone, Screaming Trees and the Pumpkins for later. If I'm not mistaken, it looks like Smashing Pumpkins are the only band or artist on the Soundtrack (which I think at one time professed to be exclusively Seattle music) not from or formed in Seattle.

You should have just gone with SweetSunShower and let the good times roll with the fetish comments. Yeah, it's a solid album and I love that Lady, Your Roof Brings Me Down tune. I have that Scott Weiland album and saw him when he toured it.
