I have been interested in Ad Astra, but worried it was one of those sort of sci-fi I don't really like. I admit I am more Star Wars than Space Odyssey.
So i asked my kid if we're just doing lunch? We are seeing Promare at 1:30.
Ok.
I know nothing about it other than it's anime.
I'll be back later to say how it was.

Whoa. Ok.
Bit bright.
First impression Dead Leaves animation style. Also Gurren Lagann. Excuse for mech battles.
Saw it subbed.
The baddies are a bunch of mutants who appeared 30 yrs ago with fire powers-the Burnish. They tried to burn the world & failed in the Great World Blaze.
Present day- City/state Promepolis
Burning Rescue, firefighters dedicated to putting out the fires set by the Mad Burnish, a terrorist sect led by Lio Fotia. We open on a building on fire, our hero team Varys, Remi, Aina all rescuing people. Galo Thymos is the newbie apparently, yet manages to catch Lio & his chief crew, Gueira and Meis. So he gets a medal presented to him by the Governor Kray Foresight, his personal hero since the man saved him as a child.
In the prison we discover the Burnish are the vistims, that the Foresight Foundation is experimenting on them.
So bad guys are victims, the Foundation is evil...
Pretty standard. Nothing astounding.
It kept my attention throughout so...
I would say personally I enjoyed it more than Spiderverse. (That animation was distracting to me). Last 3 films I saw...I would say... It: Chapter 2-8-9 This movie -8-9 Ready or Not-8 Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark-7
Skarsgard edges It up a bit because he has the character down.
This one is enjoyable. It's not like YuGiOh which as amazing because the theater was mostly people my kid's age-millenials who grew up on the show. They were more fun to watch than the movie. This was like a series because the character types are familiar as is the story, but it's not familiar. It really doesnt care that much about the story. The point is the animation. Mech battles.
It's like an action flick. Entertaining, but you don't walk out thinking deep thoughts.
