It isn't really important why the girls are doing it imo. The point of the movie is about the moral situation Keanu Reeve's character is put in concerning his sexual desires vs. being faithful to his wife. It is still a terrible movie though. Curious as to why you bothered to do research about Hellraiser if you hated it so much and what possibly could have been revealed that made you like it a few days later? For me when the Ana de Armas character was doing the whole daddy thing I was expecting there to be some sort of plot line where they were doing this as a way to get back at a rapist father or something. Instead, they're just doing it? Say they're going to kill Keanu, okay but they don't? Fine. Yet they killed the guy from Westworld (forget his name atm) so it's not like they have a problem with killing. They upload a video on faecbook to "shame him" yet it has Ana's character in it and the voice of the other. Wouldn't that get them caught? I just needed something to explain this crap. As I said, the more I think about it the more frustrated I get. The idea of 2 women seducing a random guy while being under age in far more fucked up than what we actually got imo. When I first watched Hellraiser I was a bit buzzed so most of it flew over my head. I personally didn't understand the purpose of the whatever they're called "demons" only to do a bit if google research to see why the character opened the box in the first place and so on. Just made me understand the film more as I didn't understand it the first time. It's still not great but I enjoyed it a lot more after having some of it explained to me after I was a bit too drunk to realize what I was watching at first. My own mistake is all. I find this interesting. www.rogerebert.com/reviews/hellraiser-1987I rate it 5.5/10. That is my rating for a movie I am indifferent towards.

One of the many problems with Knock Knock is that there is no reason the movie could give that would explain away most of those problems, so whether or not the movie gives them a reason doesn't make much difference. Hellraiser is an interesting movie, it just isn't my cup of tea. You're correct there with Knock Knock, which just tends to be why the more I think about it the more the film annoys me. Hellraiser isn't my cup of tea either as I don't feel the need to watch the sequels but after reading up I understood more of what I watched the first time. I was curious as to why that Pinhead character was seen as an icon like Freddy, Jason, Leatherface, Michael etc. Still don't see why. Pinhead somehwat deserves his status. Doug Bradley's performance and the design of the character are perfect imo. He is nowhere near Freddy, Leatherface and Michael Myers or Chucky, but I prefer him to Jason.

So what's everyone planning post-Challenge?
For me, the new Godzilla boxset is calling my name. Plus, I usually spend November rewatching some annual favorites from the likes of Hitchcock, Tarantino and Scorsese. With daylight savings kicking in, I always feel the urge to settle in with some longer, deeper fare.
Really, I'll probably stay away from horror until Xmas, and then it'll be time for Black Christmas, Christmas Evil, etc.

I'd consider rewatching all 7 repeat movies: The Blair Witch Project (1999), Haute Tension [aka Switchblade Romance] (2003), Eraserhead (1977), Invasion Of The Body Snatchers (1956), It Follows (2014), The Changeling (1980) and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974).
Of my 33 first time movies, 20 are possible future rewatches (although most are unlikely): Happy Death Day (2017), It Chapter Two (2019), Les Affamès [aka Ravenous] (2017), Head Count (2018), In The Tall Grass (2019), Life (2017), The Possession Of Hannah Grace (2018), The Invitation (2015), Butcher, Baker, Nightmare Maker [aka Night Warning] (1981), Rabid (1977), It Came From Outer Space (1953), I Spit On Your Grave (2010), Alone In The Dark (1982), Escape Room (2019), The Thing From Another World (1951), Antiviral (2012), Happy Death Day 2U (2019), The Prodigy (2019), The Babysitter (2017) and The Devil's Bride [aka The Devil Rides Out] (1968).

I'll keep watching horror, as it's my favorite genre. I love all movies, but in particular, good horror.

I got a hankering for some Charles Bronson stuff.

Finished with 44 total 21 first time views. It’s my new high score. I watched a lot of newer, crappier flicks tho...but a couple good ones stood out...namely Dracula and Black Christmas.

moviemouth 50. The House by the Cemetery (1981) - 3/10 I see the charismatic Bob (or should I say dubbing) didn’t win you over. 😁 He certainly doesn't help, but while some of the stuff in it is creepy in concept the actual movie is just extremely dull and not scary at all. Same with Zombie and The Beyond. That’s fair enough. I had friend who didn’t particularly care for his films post-Zombi. The only one he sorta liked was ‘The New York Ripper’. He preferred his early Giallo films like One on top of the other, Don’t Torture a Duckling, The Psychic & Lizard in A Woman’s Skin.

Makes me want to take break, and mix it up. Probably kick off tonight with ‘House Party’. I am sitting on some Hong Kong action films too.

A Lizard in A Woman’s Skin is probably my favourite of those films.
