Does it ever get addressed why Vader didnt get out of his black suit? I mean Luke, when his hand was chopped off, got a brand new hand-looking hand

I don't remember if it was ever fully explained, but it's generally understood that the technology is not advanced enough to repair Vader's lung damage.
I do like the bit in Shadows of the Empire where Vader is able to generate enough Dark Side energy (inside that ball chamber we see in ESB) to temporarily repair his lungs and breathe freely. However, his elation at his success always kill his concentration on his Dark energy and undoes the repair....

I thought the suit acted like an exosuit & life support system... His arms and legs were cut off and he was severely burned, in "Revenge Of The Sith", and as Jan El Señor noted, it seems his lungs were damaged. Not sure how he was able to remove his mask in "Empire Strikes Back", without killing himself, but I think if he took any more of the suit off, it wouldn't have been useful, or a good idea.

See my post above. The Legends book, Shadows of the Empire, explains why Vader had his mask off in that chamber. It's of of the best examples of the old EU filling in gaps with interesting info, in my opinion....

Man...they sit on such a goldmine of material and the ST/Solo is what they ended up giving us.

It's such an unnecessary addition, bound to be criticized for whoever they got to play a younger Han. Not to mention, the EU Han Solo backstory was so good. Did they really think they were making a movie so good, it was worth wiping that backstory out? Lol. It's not even close. Rogue One is easily the best Disney Star Wars movie. It actually bridges the two trilogies together nicely. That said, enough with Clone Wars/OT sidestories. I'm down for the side movies, but I don't want backstories of classic characters. Leave that to books or cartoons. For side movies, I want Old Republic material or post ROTJ material....

Whenever I'm in the mood to watch the OT again (I haven't felt the need since seeing The Last Jedi...), I would consider watching that movie again as well. It's a pretty good Star Wars movie despite the Emperor's Royal Guards hanging out with Vader, which goes against Star Wars canon.

That said, I just pretend they aren't there. Lol.

Solo actually felt like a star wars film, it had that vibe to me. Rogue One was awesome, that simultaneous battle on the beach and in space was amazing. The only thing that bugged me about it was that asian guy continuously repeating that phrase. Theyre actually going to make an old republic trilogy btw

Maybe thats why Vader has been a dark beast this whole time? This annoying suit aaarggh!! Palps the evil genius cackling away. "You're never ever getting out of it. If you ask, i'll sith lightning you."

I liked Solo but then again I dont know that much about Legends/EU. If you ever get interested, I recommend looking these up and checking them out.

Out of curiosity, what do you make of the Mandalorian trailer and the idea in general? Honestly, I like it for three reasons: 1. It's a blank slate of a new character. So we can't be disppointed by set expectations like if it were based on an established character like Boba Fett. 2. It's finally a new series exploring the timeframe after ROTJ. We've had enough Clone Wars/OT era spinoffs. 3. It just looks awesome. Also what about the upcoming Obi-wan series? The only positive is McGregor returning to the role, but everything else is negative. - Obi-Wan is supposed to be in hiding on Tatooine in this timeframe, so this series is either going to be really boring or contradict the established story. - You know they're going to use this as an excuse to shoehorn Darth Maul back into the fray even more. - I'm so sick of spinoffs in this era. That said, they may spin it in a way that makes it awesome. Maybe the central characters will be new players, with Obi-Wan supporting from hiding on Tatooine. I don't know. The idea for Rogue One seemed lame to me when I first heard about it, and it ended up being my favorite of all the Disney Star Wars movies. So we'll see....
