We don't see the demon get killed or go back to hell or whatever when Sam confronts it.
Are we supposed to suspect that maybe the demon replaced Sam?
The parents are still living there?
WTF?

A few seconds after the end credits begin to roll, a quick flash of the last scene of Sam caressing her sister's hair on the the bed shows Sam's eyes turn black. Blink and you may miss it. I didn't like this ending because I thought just ending it with Sam being finally accepted as one of the family would've been better.

I saw her eyes open but didn't notice they turned black. So that's what that was all about. And I agree with you for a happier ending.
