Toronto takes care of Tampa again. A first round matchup with them looks more positive than another pairing with Boston.

And speaking of those Boston Bruins, they became the first team in the league to reach 100 points as they took care of the Flyers last night. A classic goaltenders duel, Tuukka Rask was slightly better than Carter Hart.
Rask got his 50th career shutout on his 33rd birthday and was absolutely brilliant in net. I'm smelling a Vezina for this guy this season.

I wonder how things would be different now had the Leafs traded Pogge to you guys instead of Rask, or would the trade have not happened at all if Boston couldn't get Rask? I always wonder if there's any luck at all in situations for players or if talent always rises to the top?
For example, had Pogge gone to you guys would he still be your starter and if Rask had stayed in Toronto would he have flamed out and be out of hockey a couple years later? Or was Rask truly more talented long term and would have helped the Leafs to a Cup or two, while Pogge would have still flamed out in Boston and you guys would have spent the last decade searching for a starter?

1929: George Hainsworth got his NHL record 22nd shutout in 44 games. While goalies play many more games in a season now, it's a safe bet that the record will never be broken. Second most is 15 set a few times with only Tony Esposito doing it in the modern era a half century ago. In recent memory Dominik Hasek had 13 over 2 decades ago.
1971: HOFer Ken Dryden makes his NHL debut, not surprisingly a win.
1986: Paul Coffey ties the record for most points in a game by a d-man with 8 (2 goals). He shares it with Tom Bladon (who?) who had 8 (4 goals) for Philly in 1977.
1991: Gretzky sets the NHL record for consecutive games with an assist at 18.

Today in... 1934: The first Ottawa Senators team plays it's last game, a loss. 1951: Rookie Terry Sawchuk becomes the first goalie with 40 wins in a season. 1970: Bobby Orr becomes the first defenceman to score 100 points in a season. 2018: With an assist, Patrick Laine brings his point scoring streak to 14, the longest ever by a teenager. See SportsFan19 , Gretzky doesn't have all the records you'd expect him to have.

1941: Chicago pulls their goalie for an extra skater-- the first time a coach tried the strategy. Despite being on the PP at the time they still couldn't score on Toronto's Turk Broda.
1947: Detroit player Billy Taylor Sr. gets 7 assists to set the record for a single game. A guy named Wayne matches the record 3 times.
1955: That goon Rocket Richard suspended for the rest of the season after hitting a linesman. Montreal fans didn't take it well.
1969: Boston ties the record with 8 goals in the second period in an 11-3 win. Even more amazing is that Orr didn't get a single point!
1971: HOFer Glenn Hall gets the last of his 407 career wins.

1945: Maurice Richard first player to score 50 goals in a season, doing it in his 50th game. No one hits 50 again until Boom Boom Geoffrion in the 1960/61 season and no on does it in 50 or less games again until Bossy in the 1980/81 season.
1940: Chicago is the first team to fly for a game, going to Toronto for the playoffs.
1996: Gretzky becomes the third player (Howe and Hull) to score 1000 goals as a pro.
2000: Ray Bourque first d-man to score 400 career goals.

1933: Chicago hosts Detroit in the NHL's first ever afternoon game.
1972: Eddie Giacomin becomes first goalie to have 2 assists in the same game.
1981: Buffalo sets record for most goals in a period, 9, in a 14-4 win over Toronto. I remember listening to that game on the radio. Not a fond childhood memory.
1991: Brett Hull becomes 3rd player (Gretzky and Lemieux) to score 80 goals in a season.

The NHL will find a way to ignore that year over year tie-in for the cap, or much of it. I doubt they'd axe the likes of Toronto & Tampa Bay into expansion rosters because of a virus.

Can't read the link as the article won't open properly. It did for me, but I kind of gave up on the article. It only feels like 15 years ago since we lot an entire season due to a lockout, hard to believe it's been more than 100!

NHL reportedly eyeing 4 NHL cities for finishing the season. Gary Bettman had a 1-1 with Ron McLean earlier. Suggested the league is not in a rush nor on the clock. If they finish the season in Sept. so be it, they're willing to start next season in Dec or Jan.
Apparently one option, of thousands, could be 4 cities - 3 so far rumoured to be Edmonton, Minneapolis, & Raleigh. Bettman did add that any such an idea would not automatically mean 1 division per city. They're probably looking for low impact cities with available rinks, hotels, & amenities for quarantining players. Not that it matters, but Edmonton & Minneapolis would be better for summer anyways yes?
Ron asked if he was in discussions at all with Adam Silver, said he wasn't. Neither are in a rush, & since both will probably have 2-3 games a day, it's not really about stepping on one another's coverage. Sports will soon be all over the map. I still say July.
Some NHLPA members are semi frustrated that Swedish players are practicing in Sweden without restriction, which also puts some teams in potential mess if any of those get COVID-19.
