The Haunting (1963) and the classic Universal Monster movies come to mind.

I'll add most A24 horror movies feel classy to me. Top-tier, if you will.

I've been watching high-brow movies like Death House (2017) and The Gingerdead Man (2005) this week, so I might not be the one to ask.

Shadow of the Vampire, The House of the Devil, and The Innkeepers are all classy imo.

You can't go wrong with most any of Vincent Price's collaborations with Roger Corman.

I'll add most A24 horror movies feel classy to me. Top-tier, if you will. Top tier, for sure, but is that what we mean by 'classy?' You can have a top tier movie that's brilliantly well made but also cheesey or sleazy. A lot of the ones referenced here seem to be period pieces, kind of stark and serious, and mostly featuring wealthy people in fancy clothes and in big mansions. However, some recently that fit some of the latter criteria would be You're Next and Ready or Not. Both are fun, fairly well made, and enjoyable, but I wouldn't call either on 'classy.' Some semi recent ones that I would say are classy may be Malevolent, The Skin I Live in, and Sleepy Hollow. All rather different, but fit the 'classy' label, potentially
