We need to stop paying for these GD streaming services. Netflix is 13 bucks a month, 156 bucks a year, and 780 bucks over a 5 year span. And that's not counting all your other streaming services!
Aaaaand...you never stop paying! Ever! You never stop paying to stream shit you don't even want to watch, and you don't even own the shit your endlessly paying for! It's just madness!

That's why I don't pay for it.
If there's something I want to watch, I sign up for the free trial, watch it, then cancel the free trial.

Not much different than taking home clothes from a store, wearing them and then returning them, claiming that they were damaged when you bought them. it's called playing the system aka cheating.

I have done this myself, to be honest, but only a few times in my life when the show was not available for purchase on amazon, or one of the several streaming platforms I subscribe to, but thats no excuse I know. But as a creator who is Relying on money from people actually subscribing or paying a rental or purchase fee and not just watching under a free trial I recently became more aware of how much this hurts the creators and I stepped away from it and would encourage others to do the same.

You pay once and it's always there.

It's going to get worse but I'm not sure how long streaming services are going to last. Netflix is already losing content and market share due to Disney pulling their content to be streamed exclusively on Disney+. Not to mention, membership not growing from numbers saturation, an increased monthly fee, and having massive losses because they used to greenlit anything proposed to them. This also could be the plan for CBS and Warner Brothers (WarnerMedia) to be the only rights holders to only stream their they own content.
The time of ala cart picking is starting to end as shows are being fractured into individual exclusive streaming services.
Netflix Hulu (Disney owned) Amazon Prime Disney+ Youtube Premium Warner HBO Curiosity Vimeo +100 more other streaming services
Pick your poisons. You will be paying more regardless.

I don’t have this problem much as I have so much stuff on DVD & Blu-ray & downloads. Plus there are literally DOZENS of videos on YouTube.* I don’t find it necessary to pay to watch stuff.
