I first encountered Per Oscarsson in The Last Valley - he was sensational as the village priest.

Al Pacino had some near misses with Martin Scorsese over the years, but is now appearing for him in 'The Irishman' (2019) at the age of 79.

Looking around Swedish sights, maybe and I say maybe Per might have had an affair with Harriet Andersson but for a very short time

I figured maybe they just didn't get round to working together, but I feel it's interesting because Oscarsson worked with so many performers associated with Bergman. Or perhaps they did something together in theatre.

Good observation. Great actor. Did you guys see "Sult" (Svalt) (Hunger) or "Wine Noon" with Sam Peckinpah (who said it was the best movie he directed.. It was on youTube a few months ago)

I highly recommend it. It stars Jason Robards, too. It might be my favorite of his, along with "Straw Dogs"
