I pretty much think that the person that did more to deserve the cognomen "The Great" was Alexander III of Macedon.

Are you talking about the Grand Prince of Kiev who was also the Prince of Novgorod?
I mean i think the only reason he got the name "Great" is because he made Kiev-Rus christian or he started the Christianization of the Kievan Rus, i may be wrong but i think that this is the only reason or main reason why he is called great, And if this is the case i would say that Vladimir does not deserve the title "The Great"
I would say out of all the rulers in Russian history the only one i would say deserve the title great are Peter 1 and Catherine II. And i know some would disagree with me on this one but i also think that Alexander II of Russia should also be called the great.
