In order of importance to me and how much i laugh out loud when i listen to them:
1. Louis CK 2. Seinfeld 3. Dave Chappelle 4. Adam Sandler 5. Chris Rock
I love bunch of other comedians too but these guys had the biggest efffect on my love of stand up and I will replay their bits over and over and enjoy practically all their bits. Dave Chappelle is the only one I didnt catch live anywhere but hope to one day... They are all so incerdibly clever with their writing as well as performance. True artform at its best.

Rodney Dangerfield Andrew Dice Clay Bill Cosby Sebastian Maniscalco Eddie Murphy Richard Jeni Robin Williams George Carlin Richard Pryor Jeff Foxworthy Bill Engvall Ron White I loathed ADC. He was obnoxious and not in the least bit funny or amusing.
Eddie Murphy and Robin Williams are/were VERY entertaining and funny.
George Carline ws the master.
And where are da wimmins? What about Joan Rivers? Kathy Griffin? Margaret Chow?

And where are da wimmins? What about Joan Rivers? Kathy Griffin? Margaret Chow? You say ADC isn't funny and yet you ask why Kathy Griffin isn't on my list. Huh. I just don't find many female comedians that entertaining. Every male comedian I mention used to fill large theaters, some arenas. Never saw a female comedian fill something like Radio City or Canegie Hall. If I were to put females on my list, at least as stand up, Whoopie Goldberg but I've only seen her stand up's on Comic Relief. Rosie O'Donnell used to be funny before she became a bitter old lesbian. I used to watch her while getting ready for work on Improv when it was on A&E. And, this is supposed to be a list of comedians I like. Not a list I think you might like. You want those people on your list then make your own list. The only female comedians who's stand ups really made me laugh were LaWanda Page and Shirley Hemphill.

You may have never seen it but it happens repeatadly. I myself attended a sold out Carnegie Hall with Amy Schumer being the performer. And both Kathy Griffin as well as Joan rivers booked some pretty big and impressive venues as well.

Not the comedians I think you like. Why this is lost on everyone is a mystery. You like those comedians, bully for you. I do not. Personally I found Joan Rivers annoying. I'd take Phyllis Diller over her any day. And Amy Shumar is only popular because the bar for comedy is so low. She doesn't hold a candle to someone like LaWanda Page or even Whoopie Goldberg.
