come on. You may have never seen it but it happens repeatadly. I myself attended a sold out Carnegie Hall with Amy Schumer being the performer. And both Kathy Griffin as well as Joan rivers booked some pretty big and impressive venues as well. Once again, every list on here is subjective. My list are MY favorite comedians. Not the comedians I think you like. Why this is lost on everyone is a mystery. You like those comedians, bully for you. I do not. Personally I found Joan Rivers annoying. I'd take Phyllis Diller over her any day. And Amy Shumar is only popular because the bar for comedy is so low. She doesn't hold a candle to someone like LaWanda Page or even Whoopie Goldberg. I have no problem with you not selecting them, I was only pointing out that they did book those venues you said you never knew they booked... thats all.

I've attended sold-out Margaret Cho engagements. She is freaking FUNNY! And I've seen ADC sell out arenas. Again, you like her, bully for you. Put her on your list. I'm not going to put comedians on my list to make you feel better. Oh, I know ADC had a big following, and never could understand it.
You have an obligation to make me feel better. It's in the Terms and Conditions.

Louis CK is a fucking genius, but I don't know if I can support a man who corners women and jerks off in front of them. Thats genuinely sick behavior and says a lot about a person. Also its hypocritical of him since he passed himself off as someone who was fairly liberal in many ways. Still, most of his comedy and his TV show are/were amazing.

In order of importance to me and how much i laugh out loud when i listen to them: 1. Louis CK 2. Seinfeld 3. Dave Chappelle 4. Adam Sandler 5. Chris Rock I love bunch of other comedians too but these guys had the biggest efffect on my love of stand up and I will replay their bits over and over and enjoy practically all their bits. Dave Chappelle is the only one I didnt catch live anywhere but hope to one day... They are all so incerdibly clever with their writing as well as performance. True artform at its best. I just spent a few hours watching old Chappelle and boy is he funny. I feel like I “grew up” on his humor so listening to him takes me to my late teens/early twenties right away. I am glad he is creating again. I came here to see if I put him on my original top 5 list and I am glad to see I did. If you need any pick me up during this time, watch Dave Chappelle. Pretty much anything he did will work.

Also its hypocritical of him since he passed himself off as someone who was fairly liberal in many ways. Still, most of his comedy and his TV show are/were amazing. Hypocrisy is common in white liberal types though. Do as I say not as I do is their motto. The New England area is a hot bed of concerned liberals who claim to adore non whites yet amazingly the entire area is OVERWHELMINGLY white. Boston is one of the most hate filled racist shitholes in the world and it's the mecca of New England. White liberals love to virtue signal and post on Instagram and Facebook about how woke they are. Anything that doesn't require them to have non whites as neighbors or require them to actually do something tougher than posting from their phones is the white lib strong suit. Most of the villains in the me too scandals were white liberals. Both male and female white liberal celebs were huge Harvey Weinstein supporters and friends and they all knew he was a sick rapeo monster. Quentin Tarantino who never misses a chance for a photo op on the front row of a Black Lives Matter march admitted he knew Harvey was an evil rapist and did nothing about it. At least he was honest unlike all the other white liars. Louis CK is actually one of the lesser sicko white perverts. His standup is hilarious too as you pointed out.

Mitch Hedberg (RIP) coming to mind first. In fact, I was just at the dentist and while she was poking around in my mouth, Mitch Hedberg's jokes about tartar came to mind. And, I was literally holding in my laughter. Over such a stupid joke about using tartar control toothpaste, and still having tartar - but it's under control. Then the dentist is asking me if I'm alright. And I'm telling her "yeah, I'm fine". But I didn't want to have to explain that I was thinking of a funny joke about teeth - because then she'd be nice and ask me the joke. And it's not like you can just tell someone a Mitch Hedberg joke and expect them to remotely understand what you're talking about and why it is even a joke. The whole time she was pointing this camera on my teeth, and there was an up-close image on the screen. Every time I glanced at the screen I would think "Yeah, I have tartar, but it's under control". Then have to hold in laughing. And of course, this was on the very last day that dentists were allowed to see non-essential clients, due to coronavirus outbreak (my state is one of the leaders!) So at some point I was getting worried that she thought I was holding in coughs and that I had coronavirus.
And Bill Burr. That guy is really good. Anyone who thinks he is a simple "shock comic" just doesn't get it. He's like a shock comic for the beginning of the joke - then kind of turns it inside out and makes a valid reflection on the topic, then turns it back again and makes it twice as funny. Or something like that. He is the real deal.
And there is no doubt that Chappelle is a master. Not much more I need to say here.
I'd put Brian Regan up there as well. He is just straight up funny, and always like his stuff.
And I should mention Drake Sather (RIP). I always liked him, and would bet he would be pretty relevant today.
