What films coming out in the next decade are on the radar as being possibly great films?
Do you think filmmakers new and old will step up and make some amazing new quality original films?
Do you think the bar will continue to be lowered on what is considered a great film or will it be lifted?
Do you think a great film will come along that will change the game, make a huge impact on the audience, spawn ripoffs and inspire new films like it but also different?

They’re going to crack the code for video game movies. By 2029, the Super Mario Brothers reboot will win Best Picture and best actor for Stephen Graham as Mario.

I don't really think the bar has ever been lowered or lifted significantly in movie history so I see no reason to suspect it will in the 2020s. As is the case with every decade, I do expect that filmmakers new and old will step up and make some amazing new quality original films. I really hope Dune makes it at the box-office and spawns a new Blade Runner-esque franchise, but that might be wishful thinking.
Now for a few more detailed predictions (which will probably mostly be totally wrong, but it's fun to do):
*Asian cinema will finally get more exposure from global (mostly the European & North American) audiences, perhaps catapulted by the current and future success of Bong Joon-ho's Parasite, causing some sort of 'British Invasion'-like arrival of South Korean cinema with Bong Joon-ho being considered as one of the big directors of the 2020s. Like happened with superhero movies in the 2000s & 2010s, it won't be considered artsy or nerdy anymore by mainstream audiences to watch foreign movies, but instead it'll become 'cool' (for a lack of a better word). *As the international market continues to grow faster than the domestic one, expect all international cinema (not just South Korea or Asia in general) to grow. I wouldn't be surprised if by the end of the decade, it would be normal to have one or even multiple foreign BP nominees at the Oscars. *The horror genre will continue its post-2014 renaissance with the genre continuing to focus more on political and cultural themes wrapped up into psychological horror. Ari Aster will continue to deliver fantastic movies and will be the biggest consistent horror director of the decade. Some of the biggest directors (f.e. Nolan), including ones unfamiliar with the horror genre, will also make a horror movie, increasing the popularity even more and bringing its reputation back to the golden days. It'll be the 'superhero' phenomenon of the 2020s and we'll see the first 1 billion dollar grossing horror movie. *Dune and other sci-fi movies in the same style will cause a resurgence of epic in scale, but also slower and more ambient sci-fi/fantasy. *The Game of Throne spin-off(s) and The Lord of the Rings tv show will make sure that fantasy remains a big deal during the 2020s, perhaps even more than during the current decade. Budgets for tv shows in general will continue to increase as more and more tv shows start to work with blockbuster sized budgets. Also, one fantasy movie from the 2020s will win a BP Oscar. *There will finally be a great video game movie. *Avatar 2 will become the highest-grossing movie of all-time. If there's one guy in the industry you should never bet against, it's Cameron. *Netflix will grow even more in terms of original content reputation and will win at least one BP oscar during the decade. Together with Disney+ and HBO Max, they will be the big winners from the starting streaming competition. *While it'll remain popular, Endgame was the peak of cinematic universe style superhero movies. Superhero movies in general will become less popular due to oversaturation, but will remain reasonably sized hits for the rest of the next decade, at least during the first half. People will start to gravitate towards stand-alone superhero movies with less humor in them as is currently the case with most MCU/DC movies (excluding Joker). *90s nostalgia
