It's a solid 8/10 for me. I loved all the stories and the visuals and neo noir setting were awesome.

9. Excellent neonoir experience. I'm so impressed by your use of "neonoir" I'm tempted to bump it up a point.

7/10 I was very impressed back in 2005, but jump towards summer of 2011 and somehow things had changed, and not for the good. Still enjoy the parts with Mickey Rourke and Bruce Willis, but the rest was just forgettable and when I saw it the last time, I just skipped to the good parts and forgot about the rest. The follow up, I could barely sit through, just a huge letdown.

Absolutely Boring! 5/10 I guess I wasn't the correct Target Audience for this kind of movie

My original rating upon release was an 8, although if I viewed it now, it might get a 7 from me... I can't think of many comic-book-themed movies which engrossed me as much as Sin City. It made me feel the same way as Sci-Fi movies did as a child; as if I had escaped into another world. The dialogue/script was essentially perfect. I just love the feel of Sin City. Whenever I meet someone who hasn't seen Sin City, I always tell them to stay well away from the extended cut, at least for a first viewing. I have no idea why they released that, perhaps it's more faithful to the comics story line, but it kills the vibe for me. Ok, I'll leave it at 8.

It's a solid 8/10 for me. I loved all the stories and the visuals and neo noir setting were awesome. I actually gave this awesomely dark , gritty , yet mysterious film a vote of 10 here . Also with it's excellent memorable all-star cast , it's mentioned many storylines here , and it's " neo noir setting " too made this film quite memorable for me as well . Thanks so much salomonj for your subject post .

I agree that the neo noir and many story lines are what make the film memorable. Which story arc was your favorite?

I agree that the neo noir and many story lines are what make the film memorable. Which story arc was your favorite? Sin City 2005 I would definitely say storyline sections entitled - " The Customer Is Always Right - Part 1 & 2 " I thought this basic storyline of the salesman added a really dark yet classy start and also eerie finish to this film as well - the perfect wrap-around . " That Yellow Bastard Part 1 & 2 " A young girl seeing & reuniting with her childhood hero again after so many years of only written correspondence to him while he was in jail . For me it seemed quite a heartfelt moment in the middle of such a cruel life setting for both characters . Unfortunately this connection for these two was not long term either . Still one of the top storylines for me here just the same . Of course all the other storylines in this film were just as powerful with sending it's message as well - overall this movie for me was worth it's top vote .

I found everything about this movie ugly. Self-indulgent noir-porn.

It was an interesting experiment, but it felt too much like a comic book. It also seemed to miss the point of the noir genre entirely. Noir is not about black and white characters, it's about the shades of grey in-between that most people inhabit.
