Jocelyne LaGarde & Julie Andrews in 'Hawaii' (1966)
Does Julie Andrews have a very small man literally in the palm of her hand?

petrolino A Quest ! Yay ! I thought Haing S. Ngor BUT he had 12 film and several TV credits. and Jaye Davidson made TWO films The Crying Game and Stargate before throwing up his hands and quitting the movie business. Harold Russell One big role and small ones 34 and 51 years later and a few TV roles. Working on it …

All strong suggestions, I don't recall (personally) seeing Harold Russell in any other movies.

petrolino I haven't seen Russell either .. the filmography says he was there in 2 films I never heard of … probably quite small roles.

She would just about have to be. I thought Jaye Davidson too, forgot about Stargate. The only other actor/actress who made only one big movie was Alicia Rhett, India Wilkes in Gone With the Wind. Not nominated, of course. Plenty made one stinker.

There's plenty that made one BIG movie and at least a few little ones …
challenge is to find the ONE ONLY crowd … (crowd of one so far !)

NOT a nominee but I always liked this "made one movie" guy and wondered what happened to him. He played Joey -- the shell shocked soldier who played the ocarina in STALAG 17 Turns out he was in some TV shows and movies as well. Robinson Stone"Under the name Robert Stone, he taught classes at Fordham University's College at Lincoln Center in New York City during the 1970s and 1980s. One of his students was Denzel Washington."

Nobody ever browbeat Bill Holden and lived to tell the tale; he rewrote the rules of film and life, didn't even bat an eyelid, repeatredly (though a broken soul).

Two are Oscars for The Best Years of Our Lives (1946, won in 7); one is from the Golden Globes (SAME film) and the other is for Star on the Walk of Fame.

IF Harrold Russell were STILL alive...he'd be OLDER than Norman Lloyd.

petrolino Stalag 17 is one of the earliest "Grown Up" movies I remember seeing in the theater with movie loving Mom . I still watch it pretty often and love every minute of it. We saw Robert Strauss (Animal) in Grand Central Station and I was thrilled ! I still remember he was wearing a camelhair coat … quite fashionable !

I heard it's this movie that popularied the saying, "Close, but no cigar,", like "Nobody's perfect," but don't know how much truth therein lies.
