Even if I ignore THE LAKE HOUSE's time travel paradoxes, there are still plot holes and contrivances. In order for the protagonists to have something to do while they’re not talking to each other, they’re given boring and expendable subplots. That being said, it has elements that SIWORAE didn’t have: Good performances (surprisingly including Keanu Reeves), great chemistry between the leads and characters that are actually interesting. The pacing is also slightly better. 4/10 ------------------------------------- You can read comments of other movies (including the original version) in my blog (in English, in Spanish or in Italian).

Yes , it's a great movie ! Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves get some great scenes in this quiet yet evocative show . This movie has one of the greatest elements used in romantic movie , that being coincidence . Almost in a crescendo of accidental meetings between nearly all the actors , you would think there would be only chaos at the end . We have a sublime romance come out of nothing into a coherent something . To me , this is what romance is all about , that the missing piece of the cake that makes love work is ..... ?! For me , 9/10 , and time in the mist is only the strawberry on the whipped cream ! I'm surprised you only gave it a low score , Vits !

this. although to this day I have not found anyone else who would agree with me on this being a great movie. I attribute my liking it to the truly great chemistry and likability of the two main actors as well as characters. I am a sucker for Sandra Bullock, so I am likely to view positively almost anything she is it. now if there only were any men that would like this movie too… wouldn't that be nice :-)

Could never get into this one either. Bullock and Reeves together is the saving grace for the movie though.
