Chain of Fools is my favorite, specifically this alternate take. (Joe South on guitar.)

That's just some critic's personal list. Chain Of Fools was much more popular than #17. And he omitted one of her best songs from 1967, Baby, I Love You (not to be confused with The Ronettes song with the same title) which reached #4 on Billboard's Top 100 Singles. Scorsese included it in Goodfellas.

The Muscle Shoals crew were an important part of her success. Same with Wilson Pickett. Guitarist Jimmy Johnson died a couple months back.

I think I like "Till you come back to me" the best.

Rock Steady at #3!
My favorite song of hers, but above, "You Make Me Feel...", I "think" not.

I guess there's an accent on the voice with this list, and the politics. It was interesting hearing people like Elton John and Jools Holland talk about her piano technique and influence as a musician following her death. And she wrote some great songs that sound like they were plucked straight from the American soul songbook.
My current jam's 'One Way Ticket' ...
Thanks for the link.
