The 7" three-track bonus live disc fell out of the gatefold sleeve of Funkadelic's 'One Nation Under A Groove' long player, right into my lap, hardly noticeable, almost apologetic for being slipped unannounced inside the album in the first place - dressed in just a flimsy 7" plain white sleeve. But when I played it after the album, what in the f***ing name of Music was I listening to? I soon found out as the beginnings of P-Funk led me back to earlier stuff that had escaped me and also led me on a future path of P-Funk right up to Parliament's 'Trombipulation' long player where I funked my last funk and got off the Mothership with the heavy strains of 'Agony of De Feet' ringing in my ears. Maggot Brain, I saluteth thee with all the funk vested in me for now and for ever.
The classic Funkadelic psychojamarama played on the violin.
And that 7" piece of vinyl that seriously funked me up. Eddie Hazel (RIP)
Kidd Funkadelic tears up the tune in New Jersey.

I like this alternate of 'Maggot Brain' (though I prefer the original cut) ...

No words. I'm left bereft of superlatives worthy of it. I could be wrong here but these Pink Floyd solo guitar breaks that I've heard (I'm not a great fan so I can't name any numbers in particular) where Gilmour plays bluesy sharp riffs and solos, kind of slow tempo - to me Maggot Brain is better in different ways. It sounds more earthy and less contrived, no matter which version. But I'm not out to compare and rate the artists here. There are some Pink Floyd numbers that do excite me.

Pink Floyd got pretty funky on 'Money'. That song reminds me of the theme to the sitcom 'Are You Being Served?', with the cash tills popping.

That's a lively sitcom theme that I enjoyed better than the show, particularly the little instrumental bits between the vocals! Another favourite one was Man About The House, a proper catchy tune, well composed and it really stuck in your head. " BA-BA-BA-BA, BAA-BA-BA-BA-BA " 70s funkpsychedelia to Pink Floyd to UK sitcom themes...that's P-Funk for you
