I just rewatched Jackie Brown for the first time since I saw it in the theater. Never have I forgotten a movie so completely as I have this one - - and what I forgot the most was that Bridget Fonda was an actress! Can't remember the last time I thought of her.
Her last acting credit is 2002! Anybody have an idea why she stopped acting?

She suffered a pretty bad car accident in 2003 where bones in her back were broken and then married film composer Danny Elfman that same year and they started a family. So a combination of those two.

This from Wikipedia and IMDb: On February 27, 2003, she suffered a serious car crash in Los Angeles that caused a fracture in her vertebra (Flipped and crashed her 1998 Jaguar XK8 sports car, along the same infamous Malibu stretch of highway where both Nick Nolte and Robert Downey Jr. got into trouble with the law.).You have to wonder if Fonda's 2003 brush with death possibly caused her to reassess her life.....soon after she was married, had a child, and never returned to acting.... SAVE FERRIS

I didn't remember her having an accident, that explains a lot.
The criminally underrated movie "A Simple Plan", playing the pregnant small town wife who is in her husband's ear when a large sum of unclaimed money is in their possession. I loved that role she played opposite Bill Paxton (he will be missed).

So strange the same director made Evil Dead II, Spider-Man, For the Love of the Game, and A Simple Plan.

She's just coasting on all of that Danny Elfman money now. I wonder if she'd come back to acting if Tarantino called again.
