I love Two and Half Men. I think it has very clever writing and it makes me laugh out loud a lot and keeps me in a good mood when I need it. Its a comfort show for me.
but I also realize how sexist it is. It objectifies women a lot etc. Those who say its anti women by having mostly negative female characters on the show - I think it does he same for men too. No man there is really a quality guy you would want in your life long term. So it kinda shits on both genders.
and I wonder, if the show was presented by Lorre today, as a new show, do you think it would air?
Ps - The Ashton seasons dont count for me at all its a different show so think of just the Sheen seasons.

Personally I think everyone is too worried about offending others in general in today's world. it's like people get hanged for the mildest offense which I think is BS.
because usually if someone gets fired or their show gets cancelled (assuming it was not canceled due to bad ratings or something along those lines) it's usually due to some BS politics which usually boils down to if your on the right and say anything suspect your almost surely getting fired. but if you on the left, they are a lot more likely to overlook what you say.

It would air....as much as things seem to be changing, they haven't yet changed THAT much, and there are still un-PC shows and movies being produced every day, no matter how "inappropriate" they may be (though the large corporations putting up money to fund these types of productions are undoubtedly now scrutinizing more closely their decisions to do so). I LOVED Two And A Half Men (2003-2015).....however, if they were REALLY smart, they would have called it a day when forced to cut season eight short, after Charlie Sheen's famous (2010-2011) "meltdown". And as much as I liked the breath of fresh air that the quirky new character "Walden Schmidt" ( Ashton Kutcher) brought to the show, it went on a few seasons too long, as the quality of the scripts seemed to begin quickly going downhill, especially towards the end. Of course, hindsight is 20/20, and I'm guessing the show was making everybody just too much money to shut it all down prematurely..... SAVE FERRIS

I really doubt it. If you watch it through the meetoo and feminist agenda lens, shows like this "shouldnt" see a light of day. Yes there are still non PC shows and movies you are correct. But on regular TV? Not so much any more. And this is not an "edgy" show (like lets say Southpark was or Archer is) its just sexist by todays standards and presents Charlie as a role model to look up to (hes got it all, money, hot women, freedom, and no matter how much he messes things up he always recoveres and remains to be the cool character). I really hope you are right and it would get to air as a new show today, but I have my doubts. hear the pitch "whoremongering alcoholic who only really values women as storage for his sperm lives with his leech brother who is just as pussy crazy as Charlie is, but has a smaller penis, less money and less confidence. What they both have plenty of is mommy issues and we watch them struggle" You really think it would air?

Sad to say but I have almost given up on checking out anything new these days. I would rather watch something from 20 or 30 years ago when things weren’t so uptight and not so worried about offending people that want to be offended

It would air......okay, MAYBE not on the same network (and maybe it would), and MAYBE not in the IDENTICAL format (but then again, maybe it would), but it would air. As much as things SEEM to be changing, one thing hasn't.....making money. And if something can earn people BIG money, somebody will still find a way to do so with it.... But money aside, there's a good reason even shows with "questionable" content should be allowed to air.....for instance, a show like All In The Family (1971-1979). Even though it offended MANY people, it did a BRILLIANT job of opening people's eyes to vile behavior, racism most notably, by actively displaying the "offending" behavior each and every week for EVERYBODY to see! That said, I'd like to believe the window is fast closing for TRULY reprehensible content, and even more so, for reprehensible behavior on ANYBODY'S part, especially those in power).... SAVE FERRIS

Unless you are 25-30 years older than your younger brother you are in the same generation. And it has more to do with your taste in comedy than what generation you are.

Same here. Berta is absolutely hilarious, as is Evelyn. Rose is also funny. Judith's facial expressions are very effective. I even find Kandi funny. Chuck Lorre has a knack for finding funny women. On the Big Bang Theory, Amy, Bernadette, and Penny were all very funny. On Mom, Bonnie and Christie are hilarious. Lorre has also been behind a lot of female-led sitcoms like Roseanne, Dharma & Greg, and Grace Under Fire.
