So what is your favorite movie about Jesus ? Mine is Jesus of Nazareth (1977) technically a mini series but i have always counted this as a movie or two movies since both episodes are over 3 hours long

Il Vangelo Secondo Matteo (The Gospel According To St. Matthew) / Pier Paolo Pasolini (1964).
That and JCSS are about the only ones I can stomach.

I've found individual scenes in others I've watched that stand out, but overall I think this one is the best.

Jesus Christ Superstar. Also, if it counts, Ben Hur.

Il Vangelo Secondo Matteo (The Gospel According To St. Matthew) / Pier Paolo Pasolini (1964). That, and nothing else really comes close.

The Passion of the Christ 2: Crucify This. I would much rather watch a full version of that than sit though Passion of the Christ again.

I didn't dislike the Passion of the Christ but I think that what I liked about it has more to do with the technical aspects than the film itself. Mel Gibson usually does a good job behind the camera.

manipulating a manger into manhandling mutant migrants
the last time anybody apparently looked to see if jesus was truly watching over thee someone decided that to be lily white was the skeleton key to unlocking all manner of manifested destiny even if it meant spewing unadulterated bigotry as if it were christmas every day and god was into chopping off everyone at the arthritic knee.
sjw 12/02/19 inspired at this very moment in time by they're still getting away with calling it a religion.

The Ten Commandments (some will understand) and The Passion are a tie.

A tie between de Mille's classic THE KING OF KINGS and the 1961 KING OF KINGS with Jeff Hunter in the title role and Robert Ryan as the Baptist in one of his two most memorable films (the other being GOD'S LITTLE ACRE, of course).
Both are in my top 40 all time films.
