I recently finished watching the original seasons of Twin Peaks for the first time. Despite having some big issues with the series I found the overall experience to be highly enjoyable. At its best Twin Peaks was a brilliant series and I'm tempted to buy the blu ray collection. But, I'm concerned that replay value may not be as high as I hope it will be.... I could watch the Black Lodge scenes a thousand times, but I'm not too eager to sit through some of the more pointless soap opera subplots with Donna, James, Bobby, and every other character not named Dale Cooper. Then there's the second half of season two which, outside of the amazing finale, sucked hard.
I suppose I could just fast forward through scenes I don't like, but I usually hate doing that unless absolutely necessary.
So, what say you? What is the replay value of Twin Peaks?

For some people it has re-watch value, for some people it has not.

I've rewatched the first two seasons once, which is more rewatches than I give most shows. That said, the second half of season 2 is much rougher on the second go around.

For me, I have watched it all through three times with various friends and family. There is much to enjoy with re-visits...the atmosphere, the music, the details and lines missed on one viewing.
Initially , the second series after Lynch left the helm for a while, was disappointing compared to the first series up to resolution [of sorts] .....but if you're mentally prepared for that the second time...there is still much to enjoy in the performances. all in my humble opinion of course. Cherry pie anyone?

I'm not sure I'd have the patience for any of the Cathrine, Nadine, James/Donna or Bobby/Shelly the second time.

I have watched the first many times but only twice the second series. I think now having the 4k third run I will do a whole run through at some time. Should never forget the genius of FWWM as well.

I think that if you go into it NOT expecting the same exact tension and feel as the first series [as it's quite Lynchless for a while] ...and just see it as re-visiting of the characters and vibe...then one wont be disappointed. I quite like the Nadine story-line personally.
