Yeah horror. I've seen Krampus. Wasn't impressed. I'll see what randomness I can unearth later. I thought Krampus was a fun ride. One of those movies where you've got to just take it for what it is - i.e. just a popcorn flick with action, comedy - we're not getting The Shining, Jaws, Psycho, Texas Chainsaw Massacre here - but it's just kind of shooting for having a good time for an hour and a half. I've still not seen Blair Witch... the 'new' jobby. Keep hoping to find that DVD.

What genre are you leaning towards? How about a Christmas themed horror? Saw the original Black Christmas for the first time a couple of weeks back - was well done. Been eons since I've seen Silent Night Deadly Night - think maybe I'll try to watch that this week - maybe get Krampus in Christmas week. Original Black Christmas is great. I actually enjoyed it more after the first viewing. I won't say why here as not to spoil it for those who haven't seen it yet. The first sequel or reboot or whatever was nothing compared to the original but watchable in a goofy gross way. The newest version looks like a huge pile of steaming shit and should have just called itself "All Men are Evil and Grrrl Power is Perfect at Christmas" or something equally stupid to match it's moronic plot. I've owned the remake for years now; however have yet to watch it (picked it up for $4.99 so I couldn't resist) - heard some horrible reviews. Maybe I'll give it a shot this Christmas season if I can dig it up. I agree the original was well done - greatly enjoyed it and I typically don't like enjoy movies from that time frame.

I may be biased because I hold The Blair Witch Project close to my heart - I still want to go camping there - on the bucket list - it's only a state below me. I remember how they were marketing it as another movie at first - then 'BOOOM!' - we got a swerve/shocker as we saw the trees come together on the poster art / theatrical advertisement stating it was going to be a Blair Witch movie - I marked out like a little kid excited Hulk Hogan was returning to the ring.

Getting an 'American Werewolf in London' feel. i.e. a backpacker stopping at a pub, and you get the rest.....

It was presented as a director's commentary of an old melodramatic tv show or tv movie that had a really interesting twist. I rather liked the approach, but I dont remember what the name of the series was.

However not sure if it holds up as people shit on the "shaky cam" today. However at that time with the found footage style of it, the whole thing worked. I checked out Ready or Not last night and found it quite enjoyable. It's not a scary type of horror film but more on the fun side with horror elements. Was looking for IT Part 2 but it doesnt come out til Tuesday. Good luck hope you find something.

Blair Witch still packs a pretty good punch if you haven't seen it in awhile.
Very good, creepy film. Not sure how some folks can call it terrible.

To be clear, I meant the recent sequel 'Blair Witch' was terrible, not 'The Blair Witch Project,' which I think is rather good, inventive, and original.

I'd never heard of that series, but that was a good watch.

It was so awful I can't even be arsed to start a thread about it on the horror board. A real dud. And an Australian horror film I have higher hopes for, that I am saving for Sunday night's film watching... It is called 'Cubby House', and interestingly stars Joshua Leonard of Blair Witch Project fame.
