Had to think of the scene in The Disaster Artist too
Her answer really sums up my thoughts about acting. I have to say even if someone asked me to be in a horrible ultra low-budget C-Movie, which would look terrible already on paper, I would do it. I would try to take a Nicolas Cage approach to it and would just try to enjoy myself as much as possible. I just love movies too much to be able to pass up an opportunity like this. What's the worst that could happen? It may turn out that I have zero talent and no-one would ever cast me in anything else. So what? It wouldn't be the end of the world. well the so what part is living as a testament to having no talent yet being on screen and having people point it out for the decades to come maybe. Would you be ok with that? I wouldn't mind that at all. Chances are the movie would either be so insignificant that very few people would bother to watch it all or it would turn into a "so bad it's good" type of cult movie. I see so many bad actors around and so many creative people who have zero talent, yet most of them don't seem to be ashamed of it at all. They just keep pretending they're are artists.
Besides I've had so many failures in life and have been made fun of so often that I arrived at a point where I couldn't really give a damn what other peole think of me. I would've killed myself long ago would I take these things seriously.

If Steven Spielberg or Martin Scorsese offered me a role and they told me "you get to be in my movie, but the job is you have to shave your head, and run up and down the street, yelling and waving your hands, while smeared in peanut butter and lime green Jello" I would be like when and where sir, and may I have another. I think most of us would. but... would you do that 1. naked? 2. crying real tears (are you able to make yourself cry on cue?) 1. Oh I meant naked (I'll make the correction) 2. I can come close

Never in a million years. I have too much anxiety and I don't see how they can memorize all that dialogueMy sentiments, but they do. When I watch Jaws, I pay special attention to Robert Shaw's eyes, when he gives his long monologue in the Orca about his WWII experiences with sharks. I want to see if his eyes are betraying and he is actually reading his dialog as he is speaking. I just see him within and focused. I guess they just have a high memory capacity and IQ's off the charts. It really is impressive. And challenging, as you point out simply not everybody has that kind of memory and mental capacity.

I could cry on cue by watching certain clips in Disney movies Like Bambi or original lion King? Sure those normally make me cry too but when you have 15 people staring at yoi and pointing mikes lights and cameras in your face its just harder to stay genuine and keep your normal reactions. when I was younger I was briefly acting for a bit and eventually I found even just Smiling on cue hard with so many people staring at me and all this equpment pointing at me and everybody waiting until I do it so I smiled more and more awkwardly... in the end they cut the scene from the episode hehe . I dont blame them. But my talent for acting is very limited to I always expected it to be easier dor those who have more of it but watching people work this job now makes me realize more and more how hard it is as a profession.

I have been in three television documentaries (PBS, History Channel and Investigate Discovery) in dramatic re-enactments and a couple of independent films. I am likely to do more acting jobs before long. I was in professional theatrical productions before that. I think you need to have a strong love of the craft to do it well. The films paid well but they were very physically taxing. Take after take of getting on and off a horse, about ten takes of carrying an injured boy up a long flight of stairs, a lot of running. It was pretty rough, but I would gladly do it again.

Hello, no. Tim Curry said work with touring theatre companies is a huge risk when it comes to depression, drink and drug dependency.

I honestly don’t get how actors who act full time Don’t end up abusing drugs or alcohol with all the pressure they face and emotional juggling they have to do... Or i guess I have more understanding for if they do...

At home, if you have one, you tend to create your own provisions to stave off the iminent dangers of loneliness. On the road, your at mercy. Of course, I love Tim Curry with all my heart, and consider him to be an exceptionally gifted performer, but he's a broken man in many ways (though always in my heart).

It would take absolute concentration and the ability to tune out all the distractions. I suppose it's a learned skill and yes, not an easy one
