Maybe she had a look of slightly suprised, so I took a look to see how she looked in a haunted house chiller... ...well it's not exactly a frightened look in The Uninvited 1944, more cool, calm, a little worried and slightly surpriced. In her last movie role, The Facts of Life 1960, still slightly surpriced.

O.T., but interesting to me and maybe to you, too. Yesterday I listened to her in a 30 minute 1949 radio performance adapted from the Christopher Morely novel, "Parnassus on Wheels," which I've wanted to adapt for years. She was wonderful. Great voice for the radio. And, maybe, just a little bit of surprise there, too.
I'm not familiar with Christopher Morely's book 'Parnassus On Wheels' so I looked it up online. Read about a book he wrote called 'The Haunted Bookshop' too, I think connected. Very interesting, thanks.

Yes, "The Haunted Bookshop" is sort of a sequal to "Parnassus." I have it, but haven't read it yet. Hope to one of these days.
Anyway, thanks for the great post on Hussey. I've always been a fan. Especially loved her in The Uninvited, The Women, and The Philadelphia Story. She always seemed so grounded. That she had a sixty year marriage I think says a lot, too.

I'm with you all the way on those 3 movies. Could happily watch them in a treble-bill.
